The council, planning to close the road to traffic on Rodbourne road (under the railway bridge) so that social distancing can be observed for pedestrians when the outlet village reopens. Why on Earth they can't use the Bristol street pedestrian tunnel is beyond me.
People have been using the narrow footpath since lockdown anyway so why does the outlet village opening make a difference now? People will drive there anyway. Unbelievable.

Would make more sense to make it one way if they want to go ahead with it. Let traffic run from the outlet village towards Faringdon Park, buses could go from Bristol street towards Mannington and back up Penzance Drive

I guess this topic can include really angry too.
Reports that kids with catapults killed 3 cygnets on the river Thames last night makes my blood boil
We have had some awful reports of teenagers with catapaults attacking swans just past the footbridge at Eisey. One witness advised us that they killed 3 cygnets and a mother swan last night 😢
They may have killed others as well. This is awful news and there is a fear now for the well-being of the other swans in the Cricklade area.
A cash reward has been offered for information that leads to a conviction and we understand this has also been reported to the local press (Swindon Advertiser). If you have any information, you can message our page with your contact info and we can put you in touch with the person who reported it.
