What a piss take, accident wasn't my fault, my car was parked properly, I wasn't in the car, they still try to fuck me over though.

Seems standard regardless of blame.

That was going for the So Sue Me options as well - so a $1000 excess, minimum allowable coverages for damages/injuries etc.  It was over $500 with the "recommended" options.  That was also one of only two normal companies that would insure me due to my credit history - i.e. not having any as a newbie.

Built in Cowley Hmmm

Many years ago I replaced a head gasket on a motor I had.  Good fun, the key was the torque wrench, to get the pressure right on the bolts.  Also did a timing chain, don't think it was part of the same job, but for that you need a strobe light to reset the timing.

I had the timing chain done about 12 months ago because I'd foolishly let the oil run low and wondered why it was driving funny for a few days... it was because I was messing the engine up. Mini quoted about £1k on that job, got a lad from Luton to come down and do it for about £350 using whocanfixmycar.com.

The head gasket job also requires the timing chain to be done again too, not sure if this is just a Mini thing.

Thought I’d pissed myself this morning driving to work at 5.30. Flipped a switch on my car which I thought was some kind of booster for de icing the windscreen.

Turned out the car had heated seats. First I knew about it. That warm feeling in the nethers had me worried for a bit.

the number of people whining about the roads.

yeah they aren't great to say the least. but it hammered down with snow. unless you want to triple council taxes to invest in more snow clearing vehicles and standby staff that are used one or twice a year chill out.

All the gritters have snow plow attachments... but yea, for the one or two days a year we get snowed on, it's no surprise it's all a shit show.

Thamesdown Drive was fun, particularly the uphill bits heading back into Swindon. Any number of dickheads who have no respect for the conditions. Give people some space, particularly at lights where the incline is uphill. Its not that difficult.

Gift giving as an adult has turned into my sister nagging me for links to what i want, so that she can give me a link for what she wants (conveniently never less than what i end up sharing).

It's an utterly pointless venture, especially when she wants vouchers
