As I posted elsewhere, think 3 year deals is a bit risky.... but I'm chuffed that DJ is coming back

If true, that’s great news. Fingers crossed for Grant now

Really pleasantly surprised. I thought a bigger budget club would have signed him. If I could have only signed one out of DJ, Grant and Yates it would have been DJ. Sell on potential could be big if he develops further this year.

I'm also quite surprised. I thought he would have been snapped up by somebody with more wonga. I was surprised Norwich let him go in the first place.

Surprised someone in the Championship didn't have a bet on him to be honest. Nowhere near the finished article, but he looks like he could progress as a player. Him and Doughty for the number 10 positions is good competition, with Doughty able to drop deeper and DJ able to go out wide.

It’s almost like Wellens knows what he’s doing.

To put a positive spin on this, if nothing else Wellens has shown himself very capable of pushing players careers forward when they were older and potentially stagnating (doyle/grant) or younger with potential but needing a loan to take them up a level in performance/potential (Yates).
This can only help when players are looking to come here in the future or loans are bring discussed.
Agreed, would Yates have made money for Rotherham had he been a bench warmer for them and not played under RW, I doubt it. Hopefully he can do the same with the other squad players we have seen little of, help DJ improve on his undoubted ability and utilise the loan system to our benefit.

Whoop-di-fucking-doo!
At last a young player, our player, 3 year deal, hugely talented.
Looks like Wellens/Power have decided where best to invest whatever budget we have.
