Port Vale on his debut.

His other goal was similar vs Exeter.

Both goals drifting in at the far post behind his marker.
He was always going to be too good for L1.

Twas the Exeter one I had in mind, but they both offer up a glimmer of what could be with a player out wide offering themselves to the opposite wing.  He also took a few crack at goal in his brief showcase, so I'd like to see how Wellens coaxes something from him.

Fantastic news. The last time we signed a player that talented and young was Luongo. 3 years is a statement of intent. Nice to hear something from the club.... it seems Nixon is well connected after all. Let’s hope he’s wrong about Grant.

Same as with Doyle. Do we really want to be offering decent contracts to players with no intrinsic value?

It’s almost like Wellens knows what he’s doing.

Thinking about us signing Palmer in January - which we all thought was a strange one. Could be Wellens had already decided Anderson wouldn’t be here next season and got his replacement in early.

Huge signing this. DJ will be our record fee received in 18-24 months if all goes well.

Whoop-di-fucking-doo!

At last a young player, our player, 3 year deal, hugely talented.

Looks like Wellens/Power have decided where best to invest whatever budget we have.
Chuffed with that.

Reckons Grant will go where the longest deal is

I was thinking about this recently. Whilst transfer funds probably do get siphoned off to the owner, (a) it’s probably the case for a lot of clubs, that the owner/club are fairly indistinguishable, (b) whilst it doesn’t mean that the £££ would necessarily be there for reinvestment, it makes the ongoing involvement of that owner more likely, which is a positive.

I'm surprised at the 3 year deal.

but if he progress Blackpool will have to pay a large fee next year Smiley

I doubt he’ll want to take the step back down to league 2. 😉

At 33, we should not be giving him any longer than 1 year really, perhaps with an option to extend.

*Edit. Beaten to it.
