I also noticed that the radio suggested the Vaughan’s was ongoing but never mentioned Doyle.  Suggesting to me it was completed one way or another.

I'd imagine Doyle's personal terms might take some sorting as he's a player that's realistically out of our (L2) budget. Probably promotion and goal bonuses sought by player and agent.

Hope we don't announce anyone today. I'm a sucker for an exciting deadline day announcement or three.

I would have thought as both the player and STFC wanted the deal that any personal terms would have been ironed out weeks ago. Otherwise it would be pointless Bradford agreeing to let him go only for us and Doyle not being able to agree terms - all at the last minute.

Any delay, if there is one, could be down to agree8ng Woolery’s terms if he is going the other way.

If that's the case I hope they aren't last minute. Need them both for Saturday

According to Wellens yesterday you can sign players up until midday on the actual Saturday of a game! the rules change for midweek games where the deadline is 5pm the previous day.

Wellens was bemoaning us signing Admiral at 4pm today(yesterday), 3 hours+ before kick off and Wellens said that on a Saturday you can sign a player by 12 midday and he can play the same day but the same rules don't apply to midweek games when a player has to be signed by 5pm the day previous.

You could well be right there, Audrey

Can anyone think of a logical reason why these arbitrary timescale are in force?

Wtf does it matter when a player is signed as long as it’s before the game starts.

Not sure he is right about that.  Couldn't find anything in the rules to confirm it:

"43.8 Subject to Regulations 43.2, 43.3 and 57, a Player will only be eligible to play in a match organised by The League if the appropriate forms for his registration or the transfer of his registration (including, for the avoidance of doubt, Temporary Loan Transfers) are:

43.8.1 submitted (in such manner as the League shall specify from time to time) to and received by The League by 12.00 noon on the day prior to the date of such match; and

43.8.2 confirmed by the League to be in order."

Not disputing what you heard or what he said, only whether his understanding is right.  Looking at the EFL rules, he's not.....unless there's an amendment somewhere that hasn't yet caught up with their website.
