Some Irish football correspondent reckons we're only signing Doyle until the end of the season -

Daniel McDonnell@McDonnellDan

More transfer window activity for Eoin Doyle this week. Talks ongoing about a return to Swindon (after a brief spell back at Bradford) and it might even get done before deadline day. Likely on a short term deal until the summer #stfc
Might even get done by deadline day? Well it would be a bit pointless if we did after wouldn’t it?! Clearly another one that has no first hand info...

Cant see that happening, would imagine it would be 18 month with an option for another 12 months, or if true until the end of the season with an option if we get promoted another year automatically on L1 wages

I wonder whether in a nod to our heritage, they are holding all these back so we can have a Statement Friday?

This was announced when he signed yes. An option to extend it for next season included in the deal.

Hadn’t seen that anywhere. Good, though.

We didn't have to pay Shrewbury though did we? His contract was terminated and we picked him up.

That is not the situation with Doyle.

Edit - i stand corrected we did pay for Grant

Swindon Town sign former Shrewsbury Town midfielder Anthony Grant on a permanent deal until the end of the season
Makes sense as he will be a good wage IF by any chance we don't go up we won't have to pay a huge wage next season.

Doesn’t mention an extension in that report, though.

Powers words were "we have an option to extend the deal next season".
