My only slight concern is that our 2 main strikers are on loan. If Yates knocks in 10 by January and Rotherham are struggling they may recall him.
Unlikely Bradford would want Doyle back to actually play him but they could if they wanted to scupper our chances.
Obviously I don’t know what the loan agreements are but I’m sure Yates has a recall clause in January.

On the flip side, if they've banged the goals in, we will be high in the league and in a good place to get to get decent replacements who fancy a promotion.

I thought season-long loans cannot be recalled? Although my mind might just be making things up!

A season long loan can only be terminated in January if there is a clause in it to allow it.
Which there often is as long term loans don't always work out.

Depends on the conditions of the loan. 55 Standard Loans
55.1 Subject to the provisions of Regulation 54, Standard Loan transfers shall only be approved in accordance with following provisions:
55.1.1 subject to the proviso that the duration of a Standard Loan must be the time between two Transfer Windows, Standard Loans can be for half a Season or a full Season;
55.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the Winter Transfer Window; https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/section-6---players/

What I don’t understand about Yates’ loan is that he is OOC at the end of it. I can only think we may have a clause allowing us to buy him in January.
Otherwise Rovrum would get nowt for him at the end of his loan spell.

It's a bit more than a slight concern.... just about a year ago, when I had the temerity to suggest, that relying so much on loan players may not be a reliable tempate for getting promotion, partly because of loan recalls, some of the usual suspects called negativity, as this was apparently contradictory to how much better things were under Brown, due to his sexy football style. RobT even suggested the only likely returnee would be Woolf..... he was the only one that stayed It's where we are, so have to get on with it, but you're correct in seeing it as a concern.

Every club at this level uses loans as part of their squad building. If Yates scores 20 by Xmas (he won't) and goes back (he won't), then we're top so who cares. Replace him.
We need to get to 75 or 80 points. Doesn't matter when we get them.

Not exactly easy to replace Yates at the drop of a hat in January - especially when prices are inflated.

If he were to be recalled it would more than likely to be because he’s done well for us, not a bad scenario. I’d rather he had a blinding half season for us than an average full season.
Its pure speculation as to whether he can be recalled anyway

True up to a point, but for example at clubs currently above us in the league... you can see Plymuff with 3 loans, one a keeper and only another one starting on Saturday. Exeter with only 2 loans one sat on the bench... no starters. FGR, 2, another case of loan keeper, and one on the bench. Grimsby only 1 loan player. We're better off than last season, insofar as we're only really reliant up top, but the players have some experience. The others are mostly fringeish types as it should be, so that when a couple go lame early doors you're not fucked
