Theres no doubt a keeper can fit a role in a team and improve the side.
Under Macari when we won the championship in Div 4 we have Kenny Allen in goal, a journeyman keeper who was a poor shot stopper but he was massive at about 6 foot 5 and strong and he could come out and claim every single cross put into our box.
That was back when all teams had a huge big man or 2 up front in this division, Allen used to come out and catch the ball at its highest point so no striker could get near it and must have caught 95% of all crosses.
He then launched it upfield to our big man or out to the wingers with brilliant accuracy creating an instant counter attack, creating loads of chances and goals for the side.
We are a counter attacking side, definately away from home, so yes a decent distributer in goal could make a lot of difference, as long as we have a target man who can get on the end of any long punts too.
They way Wellens likes his forwards to be mobile, pacy and hard working I doubt we will see a target man type striker anytime soon, he is on record as saying this season he wants us to be more possession based and when required then to counter attack. I think the two wingers brought in, are there to spread the opponents back line across the box making room for the striker and attacking midfielders to find space in the box.

So from what I can gather... Birmingham need a replacement for Che Adams who's gone to Southampton...once they've got him they can let Isaac Vassell go on load to Luton (with a view to a permanent deal)...Hilton is then free to leave for (hopefully) Swindon. All well and good except those rotters Swansea City are interested in signing Vassell permanently which will mean him not going to Luton and Luton hanging on to Hilton... Edit: Or every word of the above could be bollocks.

So, Thursday is deadline day for us getting players from PL/Championship clubs? Or is that the day for them to stop signing not selling/loaning?

Scottish clubs, England's Leagues One and Two and Europe's top leagues all have a Monday, 2 September deadline.
Last season, the English Football League had an earlier deadline for permanent transfers, with clubs allowed to sign loan players until 31 August. But they have changed it this season, with the Championship having a different date to the third and fourth tiers. I read that as any transfer.
