L2 Rumours twitter page:
Swindon in the race for Danny Mayor, certainly not favourites for the signature with Tranmere and Plymouth interested. However a REAL possibility #STFC #PAFC #TRFC
According to a Bury fan he is having talks with another club, cryptically, away from ‘home’ (park?)

If Mayor spends another season at L2 level he needs his head examining and should sack his agent.

I’m almost certain he’s signing for Plymouth.

Ok. On the wild assumption it is three clubs showing interest, us, tranny & the pilgrims. Two clubs in L1 and us in L2. One of the L1 clubs is so far away from civilisation you can rule them out, that leaves Plymouth. 🤣🤣 seriously i’d say tranny for closeness and probability of staying in L1. However, what if we threw in a three year deal to get him to drop down to L2 with a few strategically positioned get out clauses. I mean come on we are a bigger club than Tranmere surely? Maybe my post does not make sense but I know what I mean.

Ryan Lowe is Plymouth's manager. They've lost Carey so Mayor gets to play the main man straight away and they've not signed anyone so could throw a decent wedge his way. Don't feasibly see why he'd turn that down to come here. Only issue I reckon he'd have is location. Not sure if he's got kids and a wife but Manchester to Plymouth is a pretty big upheaval. A major factor unless you're on massive wages that are too good to turn down.

They both score goals. What’s not to like?
Definitely a thumbs-up from me IF they sign. A goal-scoring midfielder and a goal-scoring striker - indeed, what's not to like? OK, so both had some stinkers last season but Theo was easily our best striker and Bennett, when played more centrally rather than out wide, was often MotM. I'd see it as a bit of a coup if Wellens bags them for a whole season.

Sorry to break it to you, but Plymouth went down.

Dunne was 2 years ago but your point very much remains.
At this point in 2018 only McGlashan had arrived. Alzate and Adebayo followed during the first days of July.
This year's dealings certainly dispels the myth that Power doesn't spunk out wages on players until the last minute, anyway.

I didn't realise Mayor was 28. If he ends up at either us or Plymouth he should be certified. Why waste another season languishing down here when he should have his pick of L1 teams at worst?
