Pedantry alert.
Pilgrims got relegated so that leaves one div1 and two div2 teams.

I would be more impressed if we went for Mayor from Bury but he will almost certainly follow Lowe down to 'muff.

Northern boy who has only played oop north all his career barring one 5 game loan spell at Saarfend, he won't move to Wiltshire IMO.

I didn't realise Mayor was 28.  If he ends up at either us or Plymouth he should be certified.  Why waste another season languishing down here when he should have his pick of L1 teams at worst?
He may sign for 'muff as he has a great relationship with Lowe but they would be the only side in L2 he would sign for.

Why is mayor it of reach? he's been at Bury for 5 years, obviously not that hot a property
He has suffered from a few bad injuries but was easily the best player on the pitch in the away game near the end of the season up until he got his red card, was hunted by much bigger teams than us recently but chose to stay with Bury as apparently he didn't fancy relocating according to their forum.

He has only played 3 of his 10 seasons so far in L2 and doubt he will want another, 3 seasons were in the Championship with Preston and Wednesday.

From the MDT vs Bury..

Mayor is a real handful for them, how Bury manage to hold on to players like that is beyond me (and probably beyond their finances given their continual boom and bust).

He is the only player who would actually add anything to our side.

O'Shea not sent off but Mayor! result! hes been their best player.

Mayors goals from last season.

Town close to signing Matty Godden from Peterborough on 2y deal
Matty Godden would be excellent but this can be confirmed as bollocks as yesterday he was given the Peterborough number 9 shirt ahead of Eisa for the coming season.

Interestingly though Matt Stevens was not given a shirt number, a player linked to us and our bid turned down by Posh's chairman according to a tweet by him last week..

Far too many! I think last count they had 6 "1st team" strikers.

Godden is the sort of thing if we had a PdC style budget, would make the rest of the league sit up.  We don't.

Indeed, hes a pie in the sky type signing, was Posh's 2nd leading scorer last season so unless he fell out with the management, which as far as I know he hasn't, then he wouldnt leave.

Tbf, they have a great history of paying decent money for potential and then reselling for mega bucks.

It’s having the bollocks - and the money - to buy them in the first place.

They also place every single player on the transfer list once they only have a year left on their contract

Earlier on there was a firmish rumour of him returning to Stevenage.

Fry has a modus operandi, stacking up on strikers often from non league, and out of the competition for a place, someone comes good and is sold.  It dates back to Stan Colleymore.

Darrag Anthony said he would sell Godden for what they paid Stevenage for him which was a 6 figure sum.

£250,000 would do it

Portsmouth were quoted £750,000 when they enquired a week ago....

I feel like anyone posting anything from that bot account (clue is in the feckin name) should be instantly banned

I did that, and learned my lesson fast! Hopefully others will follow suit!

Mayor apparently in Ipswich today, visiting the club (and one assumes he's not on the stadium tour).
