What seems to piss most people off is that we received fees for Flint, Norris and Moore but we can't afford to buy anyone. There are decent defenders non league better than our shite defence.
The budget most be really shit this season if this all we got to show for it.

I saw Diagouraga play for Plymouth against Franchise back last year, he looked perfectly mobile then. I don't believe that his legs could of gone since then, especially as he hasn't had any sort of injury in that time.

How long does it take... he's had 3 and half weeks since signing  Hmmm

More than 3 and a half weeks if he's done fuck all over the summer. Though one would have to ask why he's done fuck all - injury?

I'm not defending how we've spent our money, but cuts have to be made, and Lancashire and Robertson are under contract Sad

Seems we spent most of the free cash on Doughty and TD. Which to be fair should be great at this level. And you never know how Altzate will get on as the season progresses so I can see sense. Thinking of Elsnik last season, and how he looked burnt out towards the end.

Personally think its a bit mental not to get an experienced CB in before the season started. Assumed we would, but budget must be very tight.

I agree, Moore would be a small fee, Norris probably installments and Flint was apparently nowhere near the fee reported says Mr Power.

The budget has been cut from £2.5m to £1.5m according to PB.

It is disappointing that we can only get in 1 player on the budget so there won't be 2 CB's a LB and a striker, it will be one of the above, and saying that PB has already stated he wants another CB so we could be limited to just that.

Well, we know where we're goin'
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

That's very misleading.

PB probably started on a budget similar to the one Flitcroft STARTED with, only Flitcroft's rose throughout the season. As PB's is likely to do, particularly in January, as PB himself mentioned.

I also wonder if that budget last year included the fees we paid for Woolery, RCC, Mullin and Anderson.

what was Stanley's budget last season, 850k?

not suggesting we'll do a Stanley, but there are clearly bargains out there that can do the job.

PB said so himself in an interview. I suppose I did extrapolate the comment that they're starting on similar budgets, but everything else PB mentioned himself so it fits. Regardless, 2.5m is what Flitcroft ended with and we know that he spent in January, so to say it's a straight cut from 2.5 to 1.5 is very misleading.

I have no idea why he was so far behind the others in terms of fitness & where he's at currently so not a question I can answer. His ability, at this level, doesn't need to be questioned.

Who did we add in/after January?

Mayenese (30 Jan), Loan
Moore (28 Jan),
Banks (12 Jan), Loan
McGivern (15 March), Loan
Richards (15 Jan),

Out :Goddard, Brophy (Sept, so discount ?)

We'd have to be paying way, way over the odds to increase the annual spend by ~£1M from January. Say Goddard cancelled out Moore, and McGivern was only there on a short term from March

The average Div 4 player was on 50K  in 2016 (so say 100-120Kpa with NI, Income tax, etc). Can't see loan fees or wages taking the rest.

Just my twopenneth as to why I think we are starting with far less than last season, maybe not £1M less but even so...

Preston was signed at the end of September so he was added to original budget too.

Good point, Brophy covered some of that then.
