papering over cracks i fear. loan players dont really care/ are coming into a group of losers who jog around the pitch in 2nd gear/ avoid challenges.

much rather we signed some brutal, old fashioned, physical players on perm deals who if nothing else would fight tooth and nail for the cause.

Don't buy the claptrap about loan players not caring; some have a shit attitude but that's not because they're a player on loan, it's because they think the world owes them a living.

There is something in it for all loan players to perform - a new chance at their - parent club, a permanent move elsewhere, fucking pride if nothing else!

Pleased with the business today. Think Ince may offer better protection to the back four and maybe even galvanise the wayward creative types.

There's nothing to say that these loans couldn't become permanents at the end of the season...

Your entire point has no logical basis whatsoever.

I've seen plenty of permanent signings who don't care and as many loan players who have bust a gut for us.

I imagine if we'd signed the 'experienced' lower league clogger on a 2/3 year deal many would proclaim it as just another mercenary looking for a final payday.

If nothing else, this transfer window has again reinforced how awful our contacts/scouting has become.

Last seasons loan signings pushed us clear of the relegation zone, so would be good for this seasons vintage to do likewise.  The big challenge is this summer - how will Power approach it?  Another season of long shots may be a bridge too far for many I guess.

Do people still believe any players give a shit about the clubs anymore?  That has long since died in football in the UK.  The players themselves are essentially franchises these days - not that very many ever really did have affinity towards their employer, it was just that were more reliant on the employer than they need to be now - money is way to big and power way too much for them to give two hoots.

I'd day yes there are lots. Most people have some form of pride in doing well for whoever employs them.  Obviously some dont give 2 hoots, but as we know some aren't at the brighter end of the social responsibility spectrum or whatever.

You could argue loan players need to impress more than permanent signings, they after all have been shipped out and need to impress. Works both ways round which shows it's a flawed argument. So is saying that no footballers care. They earn money, for them to continue to earn money or to earn more money it is in their hands to play well and target it. lots of fans can't see the difference between players that just aren't very good and not trying.
