I am not saying he was piss poor just not as good as our fan base seem to have us believe. He is average, we are league 2 it's what the level of player is down here.

Of course it's all relative... however we're currently  77/92, in what we understand as the FL, and certainly don't want to go lower. He was the sort who could have given us a chance of improvement.

Playing devils advocate here but surely he is also part of the reason we are 77/92 ? The fact he has only managed to go to say 70/92 hardly speaks volumes does it?

Preston is the only player that I think leaves us a little under par vs. last season in any position right now.  Midfield seems better, on paper.  Forward line will be used differently, and we kept the best one.  Fullbacks, no change.  Keeper, no change.  Preston was effective at this level, Robertson is not.  He may not be a great player, but he was the type of payer you need at this level and we haven't replaced him yet.  Lots of mistakes, but that's what you will get from anyone in L2, he had a presence though and people played better around him than without him.

Other than his replacement I'd say we go into this season looking a better squad than last - paper is not always right though.

I agree on that, Preston is the only player that has left that I would have kept.

I also understand where Shrivvy is coming from, he wasn't that good and cost us with a sending off and a couple of penalties conceded when he was done for pace after being caught out of position.

But he was a solid L2 defender and probably the best we had last season, I am very hopeful that we will replace him with comparable or better which would leave us with a stronger squad than last season all round.

It’s not Ranger and it’s not Ajose. However it is a target man and free agent training with the club. Could be one of two

If we can go up those extra 7 places we get auto.... it's not easy, where we are atm, any upwards movement is good. It's the downward movement we need to avoid.

Alfie Potter and Marc-Antoine Fortune.

But isn't Potter a midfielder...?

Hope he's not like Brian.

Potter's a winger, and a scummer.

MAF is a non-scoring striker but would surely be a beast at this level?

If we hadn't signed Adebayo already...
He'd be an upgrade and has much more experience - but we need goals too...
