Are they actually talking to Wise and Poyet seperately about being manager or is the idea that Wise would be manager with Poyet as the cone collector???

Without knowing any facts, i'd imagine Wise has been interviewed by Power/Devlin and has suggested that he would bring in Gus as Assistant if appointed. Obviously, they will know each other well from the Chelsea (not Chelski) days

This shows that nothing has changed at the club and that the board room is still in utter chaos. If they never ment the things they were saying about Iffy why say them?I thought the Devlin / Power era was supposed to be about transparency and honesty.....obviously not.

Ill still go if hes appointed but I will NEVER sing his name..I dont want him.

First of all, I am extremely distressed that you will never sing little diddy Dennis' name and I am sure he is as well Crying

Secondly, if you look at all the quotes regarding Iffy from MD and BP they have been very open ended. I don't think they have done anything untoward.

Same story as the one was taken down from thisis earlier:

Quote
A wise choice?
By Jon Ritson

EXCLUSIVE: FORMER Chelsea duo Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet are being lined up to lead Swindon Town's bid for promotion next season.

The Swindon Advertiser believes Wise has been interviewed for the manager's role at the County Ground and that he would want to bring in his former Chelsea colleague as his assistant.

And it could be that Wise, will follow in the footsteps of Lou Macari and Glenn Hoddle by combining management with playing.
continued...

There has been growing speculation surrounding Iffy Onuora's position although it is by no means certain that Wise will either accept, or has indeed been formally offered the post.

And the board have yet to formally sit down with current boss Onuora to discuss his fate.

Wise and Poyet, are thought to have met Town officials for talks yesterday and been shown training facilities.

Wise, 39, ended last season playing for Championship outfit Coventry City.

Prior to that he had been boss at Millwall, leading the Lions to the 2004 FA Cup final, where they were beaten 3-0 by Manchester United.

Before moving into management he began his career as a member of Wimbledon's Crazy Gang', helping them to Wembley glory against Liverpool in 1988 and he held aloft the famous old trophy again 12 years later as Chelsea saw off Aston Villa 1-0 in the last final to be played at the old Wembley Stadium.

He also took in Leicester City and Southampton on his travels.

A change in the boardroom at the New Den saw Wise move on, having earned plaudits for his work at the London club.

Now it seems as though he is ready for a new managerial challenge in Wiltshire, assisted by former Uruguayan international Poyet, 38.

However, it could be the end of the week before anything is finalised and the picture becomes somewhat clearer.

Town deputy chairman Mark Devlin did not wish to be drawn on the matter as the Swindon Advertiser went to press.

He said: "I have no comment to make at this time."

Strange, I thought he'd be exactly the sort of player/manager you'd like?  Hmm, maybe there is more to your man kissing than I first thought.

I can't help but feel rather excited at the prospect of having dennis wise as manager. A very well known footballer that has acheived loads in the past and he could be coming here!! He could well be the man that brings us back up to league one at the end of next season.....oooooooooooooh exciting times........who knows!  Cheesy

if he does come in and does well then everyone will be happy (OBVIOULSY) but i think he is the sort of character that when things are down he will like king and more so mcmahon rub people up the wrong way and could cause a lot of problems within the club and could end up doing more harm than good but i do agree that he is the sort of person we need at the moment as long as he has someone with him who is tactically sound whether it be poyet or wilkins.

everyone should excited and welcome him but don't be suprised if he fucks off at the first opportunity to futher his career.

at least our midfield will get some good coaching for once

and i think cureton and wise would get on well

be interesting to see what i hanlon and evans do now
