OK guys, wether you beleive me or not is up to you lot- all im doing is passing on information here. I happen to liv near someone who works within the club, and they have just foned me and informed me that a deal is being hammered out that would see Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet installed as new manager and coach or summat.

Personally im still sceptical, but if this happens then it would surely be great news?

PS> Don't shoot the messenger. I'd be suprised if any of it turns out to be true!

I fucking love Gus Poyet, he's a legend!! Would love to see him at the club even if its his first attempt at being in the 'lime light' of assistant manager (if its his first attempt?)

Good move in my opinion.

Is this one of those moves where it puts the club in the limelight without it actually being a good managerial choice! Is dennis Wise really any good as a manager!?

Wise is a weird one, not something I was expecting. expanding what kaufman said, I can see a Mcmahon scenario, being good when the players are up for it but pretty crap when it get's hard.

You'd have to be a bit fucked off though if you were Iffy right now even if it is all rumours and snippets.

I've nothing against a wise appointment but does Dennis Wise meet the criteria laid out in the quotes in today’s WDP?

When you compare the two Wise’s experience stretches not far off a season or so more games than Iffy’s.  Someone like Holloway is perhaps understandable but it’s a bit of a like for like replacement in the managerial stakes except perhaps that Wise would probably prove to be a cracking to the playing squad.

The great Raymundo seems to be a viable connection in both the ‘experienced helper’ stakes and the link with Wise and Bill Power’s old club QPR.  Out of all of the connections so far his seems the most viable.

Can’t complain at all mind it’s all interesting stuff and should prove to be an eventful week one way or another.

wise has got to a fa cup final and played european football,he done very well at millwall until he was forced t o sell cahill, ifill and others then told he can not sign anyone to replace them..his knowledge of top flight football and international football will be superior to anything iffy has to offer im afraid and the contacts he probably has in the game can only be a good thing

on the other hand iffy has helped to get the team relegated(not entirely his fault)oh and he got the youths to the youth cup final  think i know what i would prefer..

BUT its probably bullshit so iffy it is Cheesy

Not sure if Ray Wilkins will be here, according to the rumours page on BBC:

On the managerial front, Peter Taylor will make Ray Wilkins his assistant when he is named Charlton manager. (News of the World)

Thats from sundays rumours tho, however makes the Gus Poyet link possibly a bit more viable...?

Will be interesting to see if there's any truth in it. He may well of had an interview. Not sure what I'd think about Wise but could do worse.

They're actually saying he's in negotiations - not that he is the new manager.

Dennis Wise...mmmmmmmmm.....not sure.

Will Probably get more people throught the turnstiles on a Saturday but when things start to go pear shaped, which they inevitably will, will he have the tactical nouce and man management skills to get us back on track?

I think it's also going to be a case of how much money is avaliable to him to spend on wages etc......

I hope my doubts are ill-founded and he goes on to be an ace manager. But you can't help but wonder.........

I hope he turns out to be an ace STFC manager though.
