Brendan Rodgers first game as Celtic manager finished with a defeat to Lincoln Red Imps. I like to think i have quite a good knowledge of European football but even i had to google them.

Colin Murray said they were worth a punt yesterday as they were 18-1 (and apparently 22-1 at half-time).  Looking at his twitter feed, a lot of listeners got on it too.  Sadly, I wasn't one of them..

Someone whack 10k on the imps inplay when it was already 1-0 also saw a slip where someone lumped a shit load on Celtic to win.

Sorry to go a bit fatbury on y'all, but she really hits the spot when one has a lot of one's plate.

She has a lot on her plate about 3 times a day I reckon

Quoting Malcolm Tucker today when referring to a colleague as 'as useful as a marzipan dildo'...

While holding our 12 week old the other day I used a Tuckerism - "I'll be there in two shakes of a crying baby".

My wife just glared at me Smiley

A friend of mine has just had a baby (more likely his wife, come to think of it), and he quoted Lee from The Office UK whilst the baby was crying (on her first day at home) - 'shut that up would ya..'

Classy.

Speaking of Colin Murray, I see he's resigned due to News Corp buying out TalkSport's parent company. Good for him.

I'm not entirely sure why, but for some reason when I hear "News Corp" I think of the people/company that built ED 209 in Robocop. I suppose more fittingly it recently also conjures up thoughts of Evil Corp in Mr Robot.

A good reminder in general as my prime trial expired just as I was getting into it and I forgot all about it. Have to get a hold of it somehow now I have a month off!
Might of worked out what's happened in the first episode by then Cheesy

Yeah, not many people would bin off a 3 year contract because of principles / integrity. Says a lot about him.
Id avoided TalkSport but when he moved from 5Live decided to give his show a go and have really enjoyed the last 4 years of listening to it. He tries to be a bit different and not just regurgitate the day's headlines like most of the other output does.
I'll actually really miss listening to his show.

Always good banter and decent content.

So last night, the wife and I went to a social event which was put on by her work.

Hog roast, dessert and a free bar... Only stipulation was "no double measures and no shots..." - I got to try some locally brewed IPA beers... My wife said that she was going to drive.. So subsequently, I have a headache this morning.

I blame her.

Interesting, IPA and real ales never ever give me a headache or hangover no matter how much of it I drink (up to 7 or 8 pints) but chemically lagers like Grolsch, Stella, Carlsberg etc it only takes about 4 to give me a headache.
