I'd say off the top of my head Alf Stephens, who played a bit straight after the war

Leeds are signing a left back from Chesterfield, I believe Poleon is a make-weight in the deal.

I bow to your greater knowledge, and will try and put Alf W in the memory bank.

Haven't seen Sam Morshead's impending transfer out mentioned anywhere (other than Twitter). Can we speculate where he is off to? Forced out by Power? (!!)

Poleon review from a Leeds mate 'bit raw but some potential, quick as hell'

IF he does come we'll have a veritable clutch of speedsters with Williams and Brad Smith.

Byrne aint slow either

On Leeds forum their deal for the Chesterfield player is done and they also said that the situation re Poleon is unchanged and no moves are being discussed at the moment

There is a mention on Phil Hay twitter that Poleon may be going to Bradford on season loan but nothing official

The Chesterfield forum says Poleon signing is a done deal.....I guess we will know for certain the next day or so. But he does sound like he could be one of the players Power is/was after by his description.

Sam's transfer is to a new (& as yet unnamed) Swindon-based media venture - but he will still be covering STFC.  So unlikely that his difficult relationship with LP is a factor.

Later on it said there was 'no interest in Poleon' from Chesterfield.
