Oldham away, then Barnet and Shrewsbury Bob.

Don't want you to  miss the Tuesday game.

Oh I genuinely didnt know we had Barnet! Thanks for that Batch. Im in London at work for that game, but won't be able to work it logistically to go to the Hive.

I’m still not seeing a consistent pattern to trying to score. All still seems a bit random and “try and cause chaos” but you can’t fault the work rate and pressing. Couple that with conceding 6 goals in the first 3 games (albeit last night being against much better opposition) and it feels a slight concern.

Princewill looks a good find and different to what we have. Tabor looks to get in the right areas as a goalscorer which is the main thing, his all round play will improve as he settles.

Defence is still learning and gelling together but will have to do that quickly and can be helped faster by improving the set piece organisation.

A good workout in the end and one you’d think we’d have benefitted from as a pre season game as well.

Barnet is at home anyway.

The trip to the Hive is Feb 17th (a sodding Tuesday in London, obvs)

Improved second half.

Mabete worries me though. I just don't get a good feeling.

Hopefully I am wrong.

First half was absolutely awful.

I’ve lost count now the amount of times Holloway has selected the wrong team, played players out of position and then had to change things.
It seems to be every week which is a worry. It’s all well and good having the most points coming from behind but you aren’t going to get promoted like that.

Second half though, a lot better once players were playing in their actual positions.

Mabete is a disaster waiting to happen. Bodin needs game time as does Tabor.

Princewill was superb.

I also share that feeling about Mabete. He didn't do anything particularly ridiculous last night and his passing seemed sound, but there is just a weird feeling he could be a liability. Hope it's unfounded nonsense my brain is doing.

Add me to the list. Not trying to destroy him, he may well prove me very wrong, just felt a bit "accident waiting to happen", probably in a Sol Davis sort of way.

As others have said, first half was really poor. We just didn't have the right personnel on the pitch, Ball in midfield and Bodin playing in the 10 just wasn't working.

2nd half reshuffle worked really well, I thought Oldaker off the ball was excellent. We got in their faces and stopped them playing out from the back and it really worked. We looked like we could have got an equaliser but the first half was so one-sided, we didn't really deserve it.

Fans were absolutely brilliant last night, real opportunity for the club to get some wins on the board and this crowd will grow. Huge potential for something this season.

I think Mabete is suffering from a touch of the Miguel Freckleton's in the 1st Half of last season.
He needs a bit of experience next to him to calm him.  Hopefully he'll come good.

Freckleton when he came back tail end of last season became a more assured player

Can’t work out if I want to see Tabor go on loan or see a bit more of him as currently it’s only been a few cameos. He didn’t seem to be able to outpace the tired centre backs at the end and he’s started to realise he won’t get time for decision making as he would down the tiers. Certainly a raw talent, but we have to find the best pathway to nurture him

The strange thing is that Holloway seems to have a habit of royally buggering up the team selection but then also has the ability to successfully identify what’s going wrong and sort it out with subs/reshuffles etc, not sure whether this is down to a lack of scouting of teams we are playing or just a blind spot he has, but just seems odd.

Mabete was ok, a few wayward headers under no pressure and again a few passes not going to intended player towards the end. Sometimes he does also invite pressure and then takes time to release the ball so it goes out of play or the Cardiff player took it off him. He will improve but again it’s all new experiences for him

That applies to every game so far. Maybe he just doesn’t have a clue how to set up from the outset.
