So is any manager signing a new contract early into their career with a new club!

I think that Flynn contract has probably guaranteed we never do anything like that based off a good start again!

Holloway being local probably means we have a chance of actually holding on to someone for once.

If the cunts at the top don't do what they did with Michael Flynn and try to make him skimp on a squad and get by with 13/14 decent first teamers, we might actuallt go up next season.

Which puts me in a predicament in terms of boycotting. I still haven't been since begrudgingly going Boxing Day 2023 (and that was my first time in a long time). If we're pissing the league I might just have to make extra effort for away games.

I have an orange hat at least.

Crewe (H) - 7th
Barrow (H) - 15th (4pts ahead - 4th worst away record)
Newport (A) - 18th (2pts ahead)
Tranmere (H) - 20th (1 pt ahead - worst away record)
Carlisle (A) - 24th (6pts behind - 2nd worst home record)
Vale (H) - 3rd
Harrogate (A) - 21st (1 pt ahead - 3rd worst home record)

The next 7 games are absolutely vital for our season.
I posted that after the Notts Game, 13/15 points from the first 5 games. Even better is that the wins were against all the teams around us.

Fair play to Holloway and the squad.

Absolutely.

I had a little check of our most recent 16 goals we have scored and it surprised me a bit.

Out of that 16 only 4 have come in the first half of games on 8, 15, 15 and 45 mins.

The other 12 have all come in the last 15 mins of games and 5 of those after the 90th minute.

47, 75, 76
82, 83, 87, 87
90, 90, 90, 90, 90

Its beginning to look a bit like our season winning the title under Macari (not suggesting for 1 minute that we can get promotion) but that season so many of our goals came late in games too, often with our heavy pressing game and fitness level.

That season we went unbeaten from 4th January picking up 53 points from 21 games at an average of 2.5 PPG almost exactly the same PPG we have got in the last 5 games.

Definitely goes in our favour.

I read Carlisle’s match day thread from their forum & a few were like ‘if we’d have got Holloway in we’d be ok by now’

…and whilst the point was more about their manager being crap - I just the feeling Holloway wouldn’t have entertained the idea of being Carlisle manager based on location

Fairly common POV from the blue side, the friend I had who used to go up every week has knocked it on the head for now as its so dire.

FWIW I have always liked Holloways approach, he deflects pressure from the players when they need it and he is a motivator, we have missed that since Wellens.

Pretty much this, he's the first manager we have had in ages that seems to be able to speak about football and have a fecking clue, yes he might come out with some strange stuff but I get that impression that's just the way he is, there is no affectation to it, he just talks like that and he seems passionate to do well and happy/pleased to be here. Its interesting you mention Wellens (who still seems to be a deity to many of of the fan base), he was fairly good with the potection of the players, but the whole Alex Ferguson mind games bought off wish grated rather as did the general impression I got that in his opinion he was doing us a massive favour being here!

Onwards and upwards...

It is, Barrow and Carlisle. Carlisle also sacked their gaffer after we beat them 3-1 a few seasons back, that was the Mckirdy pie/burger throwing game i believe.

Sacking the manager on deadline day just seems to reinforce the view much of the fanbase have that whilst the owners may have loads of cash they are worryingly lacking in the having a clue department.
