Carlisle closing in on a loan striker (11th new player).
Said to be Andy Dallas on loan from Barnsley, been at Barrow on loan first half of the season and scored 3 in 17 for them.

If it clicks for Carlisle they certainly have the squad.

Currently a 39 man 1st team squad including 9 development players that have been given 1st team numbers.

Hadn't realised that the window closes on... the 3rd of Feb? Figured it was Friday, but apparently not.

Hadn't realised that the window closes on... the 3rd of Feb? Figured it was Friday, but apparently not.

"The English transfer window closes at 23:00 GMT on Monday, 3 February"

No idea why its a couple of days later than normal, as previously its always been 31st Jan at 23:00 GMT.

Apparently its...

Although the details have never been fully revealed, the Premier League did concur last year that the deadline was extended to help bring the English game in line with some of European football's elite leagues.

Quote
The transfer window for European countries is broadly the same as for the Premier League, give or take a few days.

World governing body Fifa sets out two annual periods for transfer windows, with the exact timings set by each country's football association.

This year, some countries - including Italy, Portugal and the Netherlands, external - have transfer windows that close a day or so later than the Premier League's deadline of 3 February.

So, clubs from these countries' domestic leagues could still purchase players from the Premier League, but Premier League clubs will no longer be in the market to buy.

This year, the Scottish Premiership's transfer window closes at the same time as the Premier League's.

There are 29 goalkeepers who have played 10+ games in League 2 this season.

According to whoscored rankings, Barden is the worst of the lot and Bycroft is 21st.

We should stay up with either but surely a good keeper gives us a fair chance of a top 10 finish and build momentum into next season (assuming Holloway stays etc)

And the budget doesn't get cut further, which is inevitable

Apparently we are sailing close to or right at the SCMP/FFP limits already with the current squad.

That'll happen when you bundle in the coaching staff with the playing budget

So are we now fudging the FFP rules negatively to our detriment?

Tbh I don't don't know how it works with regard FFP, how the league get the numbers etc. but regards statements being made about our biggest budget for years etc. i have definitely heard that this season they included the coaching staff into their playing budget numbers.

Irrelevant really i guess as it is what it is, but it is something to keep in mind with the rhetoric being given.  But i will probably be accused of being an orange hat wearing sensationalist, or need to get over myself.

I thought we weren't?! Ollie hinted at it though.

Suspect the crowd figures have forced a re-evaluation
