I wasn’t a fan really. He had that decent game against Newport (I think?) where he was peppering shots in from range but other than that I thought his time here was mostly running around and being knocked off the ball. Couldn’t knock his effort though.

Same category as Lindsey, Conroy etc for me. Not worth the revisionism, it wasn’t working for them here, likely wasn’t going to work for them here if they stayed so they’ve left and done better elsewhere. Well done to them and no “what if’s” from our end because the same result likely wouldn’t have happened here.

It's almost as if players can improve on a different team with different coaching, tactics and team mates and with age and experience....

Who knew???

I thought he was weak with no end product but he proved me wrong at Crawley, and I've come to terms with it.
Several players proved us all wrong At Crawley,  just shows how bad the management was.

I wonder how much subconsciously was that Darcy was being compared to Jack Payne and was never quite going to be able to fill his boots. Although to be fair Payne is now lower league 2 and Darcy is a league above.

Why would you not include one? Thats absolutley brainless if so

I would say thats one way of getting a deal done quickly if you were short of cash……

This has been mentioned to me a few times, and seems to check out with Longelo's transfer to Salford where again no sell ons were included.

Usually you can ask for a bit more up front if you don’t include a sell on clause.

Not all of the time but certainly in the case of a player that has some potential, the buying club may fancy a slightly larger up front fee to avoid having to pay out a sell on if they move on for cash.

Likewise if a club wants rid of a player and the buying club doesn’t have or want to spend the cash, a free transfer with associated sell ons and clauses suits both parties. E.g Harvey Vale has just gone to QPR from Chelsea on a free transfer structured with add ons and sell ons.

Can work the other way though as well if the buying club has form for selling on players for large sums. E.g Peterborough, they could probably negotiate a lower up front fee for a player by including a chunky sell on and providing X examples of that being more appealing than slightly more cash up front.

Confusingly though, the day after it was reported that we didn’t have a sell on, IH then mentioned in a presser that we do have a sell on (unless I heard wrong). Very confusing.

It's not like our club to be communicating mixed messages and talk as if nobody knows what is going on

TBF its not a mixed message from the club, there is a rumour that we don't Holloway says we do, the only one from the club says we do?
