We are in big big trouble. Squad is nowhere near it
I'm not quite there yet. But in what we've seen so far it's hard to argue against though. For me it's a bit early to form a definite opinion. We do look leaky and shy of creativity which is a perfect storm. Just hoping there is more to come from then all. Take Clarke for example. Totally anonymous so far. Surely he's got more about him than we've seen to have had the steady career he's had.

Although a fans favourite at Mansfield, I think he lost his place last season and was used as more of a squad player towards the end.

We do seem to be dividing into camps of "the squad isn't good enough" and "the squad is fine, the management team isn't working". It's very early for both but I think I'm closer to the latter - I could see a gnarly League Two manager making us a very difficult team to beat and good on set pieces. Open play creativity definitely a problem.
I'm not Kennedy out yet, but I don't think he's been set up to fail half as much as Flynn, Lindsay and Morris all were.
I think the squad is ok & the management should be getting more out of them. As has been said the midfield set up has been baffling at times & can’t help but think the Ofoborh we saw at the back end of last season would be a massive help.

He never got his position back after suffering a fairly bad injury last season. At times he looks very good but at times he looks well past his best. I hope the good games will start to outweigh the bad soon.

That may explain it. Finding fitness and consistency.

His legs have gone imo. Looks like he is always trying to do the right thing but just can't do it anymore.
Problem we have is i would say half the squad will always be chasing fitness. Not sure anyone noticed last night but Kilkenny looked to pull up injured too but i hope i seen that wrong

I don't think I agree with Mr Kennedy's assessment.
I don't think that was a 'really good performance'. And I didn't think that 'some of our football was outstanding'. I understand focusing on the positives, but an 'outstanding performance against a really, really good side' and the 'results not reflecting the performances' are stretching it a bit.
Kennedy thinks we are in 'a really good place' and '3 weeks behind schedule' because he wasn't there in preseason. Again, not sure I agree with the first statement and am not sure whether another 3 weeks will see us become a lot more tighter in defence and more creative and clinical at the other end of the pitch. But, I will say that the last 2 games have been much better than the others - although the other games have been a low bench mark and absolutely abysmal.
Kennedy speaks well, but someone mentioned Maurice Malpas. He had the pedigree to succeed, but served up utter shite. I hope Mr Kennedy doesn't do the same.
Agree and I believe that Kennedy is getting something of a free pass from fans largely because of the problems higher up the club. His post match assessment of performances have been overly positive, bordering on delusional. The only performance that for the whole game came even close to very good was Notts County. The others have been abject (Walsall) to average, with 15-20 minute spells of good thrown in. I want to see more honesty in his post match interviews, along the lines of Wellens who tended to say it as it was. For once we have a reasonably balanced squad with many experienced heads who should be able to deal with a candid assessment of their performances. In addition some of his decisions appear to be questionnable at best, the most glaring error being using Cotterill as CDM in the first few games and Ofoborh further forward when they are both clearly more suited to the other roles. We have consistently lacked creativity and even though it is very early days, the lack of an entertaining or effective playing style together with a record of no wins and 4 losses in the first 6 games is of significant concern. Time will tell and I hope I am proved wrong, but based on evidence to date he seems to be cut from the same cloth as some of those above him i.e spouting optimistic/delusional bullshit and delivering very little.

I think I can forgive him on that. He's trying to keep everything positive. If he really believes what he is saying we are in trouble but no point ripping into them right now.

Butterworth could be the key to unlock the midfield conundrum. Also would've liked to see Smith and Tshimanga as a 2 last night. Could be a winner in my book

Yeap. Lost to Histon 1-0 on the Saturday, then four days later lost to Brighton 2-0 EFL trophy area quarter final. He was sacked on the Thursday Morning. I was at Brighton that night.....that was his last chance...win that and he would of carried on. He knew he was gone.

A free hit and it wasnt taken.
We werent shit but still looked likely to implode at certain times.
Exeter fluffed a fear gilt edges into the bargain.
Sobo and Butterworth looked good and the Keeper looked confident.
Drinan? FFS, he was like a hindrance last night. Gave away the corner for their first but needlessly heading the ball and it was criminal that he didnt put Butterworth through on that run. What was he thinking!? Or perhaps he just didnt. The jury is finally out for me with Drinan...and its a long stretch.
The second goal? sheeesh! Where were the defenders going?....thats dogshit on a Sunday morning. Sweet strike but unlike Saturday where a bit of skill made an opening for McGoldrick, Aitchison could of relaced his boots before hitting it!
You can see glimpses but fuck me, here we are with zero wins after seven odd games, shipped a load and scored a few. The reality is harsh.
The post match interviews are starting to grate a bit.
Sorry but that was not a great performance Kennedy. Not by a long chalk.
We now go to Barrow on Saturday and then an undoubted feisty encounter with Newport.
I think we beat Barrow up there last season, so hopefully we are a Bogey Team !!
Maybe we can rise to the occassion in the 'derby' with Newport.
Not winning is a bad habit, and we need rehab at the minute.
Everybody needs a break at the moment.....lets hope it comes Saturday.

No need to rip in to them, just be balanced and he isnt at all. Its all excellent this and excellent that. Fans want and deserve an honest assessment post match.

Copy and paste job from the last thread. I'll probably get a lot of use out of this season.
Another game, another reminder we are in freefall and going down.
Has news reached the dwindling Clem fan club yet?
