Why are conceding so many worldies? Is it because we stand off too much?

Yes.
Should have closed down both of McGoldricks goals quicker on Saturday.

The telling stat for me, according to BBC, was their 24 touches in our box, compared to our 7 in theirs.

We aren't going to keep losing to quality long range strikes every week.

True, I’m sure at some point we’ll starting losing to goals scored in the box as well.

I don't think I agree with Mr Kennedy's assessment.

I don't think that was a 'really good performance'. And I didn't think that 'some of our football was outstanding'. I understand focusing on the positives, but an 'outstanding performance against a really, really good side' and the 'results not reflecting the performances' are stretching it a bit.

Kennedy thinks we are in 'a really good place' and '3 weeks behind schedule' because he wasn't there in preseason. Again, not sure I agree with the first statement and am not sure whether another 3 weeks will see us become a lot more tighter in defence and more creative and clinical at the other end of the pitch. But, I will say that the last 2 games have been much better than the others - although the other games have been a low bench mark and absolutely abysmal.

Kennedy speaks well, but someone mentioned Maurice Malpas. He had the pedigree to succeed, but served up utter shite. I hope Mr Kennedy doesn't do the same.

Just watched the 'highlights' again.

That could have been much worse had Ali (and Doyle) not been so profligate. e.g. Minturn and Delaney gifted them gilt edged chances.

For the two goals, Cotterill was the man who was slow to react to the short corner (Tshimanga tried to cover) and was on his heals and out of position from the throw in (watching King complain to the 4th official). Great strike for his goal, but, he seems a massive weak link in midfield to me, both offensively and defensively. He's got something about him, but looks unprepared for the speed of the game.

Worryingly we have bought in a team of 'rated' who now do not know how to defend.

The midfield and defence just leave the runners and let then run into space....

The wingback leave tye wingers with acres of space then try to defend when they've guy the ball.

When the opposition is near our box there is no closing down....

I put it down to Kennedy and bignot and their coaching.

Not looking good fir the season so far

I've only watched the highlights. The defence looks atrocious for sure, I hope they were told to take it easy yesterday.

Tshimanga looked sharp with a couple of shots, get him in front of Glatzel for now.

With the internet, social media & how everything a manager says now is probably accessible all over the world forever in multiple formats - I don’t listen to a word any manager or player says.

They are all heavily media trained & say whatever they can to appease everyone and upset anyone or saying anything that can come back to bite them. All very diplomatic.

I hope to Jebus that’s what it is - rather than Kennedy believing his words…

We do seem to be dividing into camps of "the squad isn't good enough" and "the squad is fine, the management team isn't working". It's very early for both but I think I'm closer to the latter - I could see a gnarly League Two manager making us a very difficult team to beat and good on set pieces. Open play creativity definitely a problem.

I'm not Kennedy out yet, but I don't think he's been set up to fail half as much as Flynn, Lindsay and Morris all were.
