Blimey, when was the last time we had a manager do 2 full seasons? I don’t think even Wellens did that?

In fact, if Holloway is still here next season, will he be the first manager to end one season as manager and then start the next since Wellens?
That's a very fair point!

Get the impression he's got a contract offer, so I'm optimistic.

Can I just say when I was in Auckland 20 odd years ago I met up with Robinnz and he was ace.
Went to his local had a slap up meal and wouldn't let me pay a penny.

Proper nice fella!

When Holloway was appointed I was asked if I thought it was a good appointment.
Given the choice between Holloway, Gunning or Kennedy his was head & shoulders the best option.

However there was the concern that he’d been out of the game for a long period, his last job had ended badly & his comments for the reason being that he didn’t have a good knowledge of league 2.

Some of the criticism of the fans here has been a bit over the top, and he seems to have dialled that back now, but in general he makes a lot of sense.

I certainly wouldn’t be unhappy if he was here next season

Well quite, he's far exceeded my expectations and I'm delighted my concerns were wrong.

Not having a pop at the kiwi one, just think it's too early to judge him yet

I’m pleased to admit I was very wrong so far and long may it continue.

Guess the acid test will be the summer transfer window and any promises that get broken like has been the case with every other manager under this regime.

Correct we’ve had new manager on the opening day for 4/4 of Clem’s season, very sustainable…

Garner and Scott Lindsey both joined other clubs, so 2 out of 4 were you could argue were not the fault of the club?

I'm sure RNZ is a wonderful host and lovely bloke. I'm teasing him. What vintage of bleach did you have with the meal?  Wink

Garner yes, an offer of Charlton in league 1 would have been difficult to handle but Scott Lindsay left half way through the season and his replacement ended up being (with hindsight, granted) a poor one. You could argue that in fact Chorley leaving hindered future managerial planning. (i think the owners said that the structure they put in place would mean that managerial changes would be seamless, or words to that effect)

I think it's generous to say that the Scott Lindsay season wasn't the fault of the club personally. To be fair, putting Sandro in was at least a plan, as it turned out not a successful one.

I've seen some people calling for him to be given a 3 year contract. Crazy
Then again, I have read people say he is a proven Premiership manager and clubs would be queuing up for him.

They say lighting doesn't strike twice but that didn't work fantastically well when we gave Flynn a 3 year extension. I definitely think Holloway should be given a new contract and certainly a big say in recruitment planning for next season. A 1-2 year deal maximum.
