Yes, think that's fair comment. Vic didn't cut me off, gave me space to finish what I was saying. No issues from me there.
It's a difficult conversation to have, and people generally don't like difficult chat, but I'll keep banging the drum until my football club is in safe and capable hands.

That's where the LSPod is such safe haven for me and others - the wonderful Rich P flexes no editorial muscles at all, we are free to speak our minds (provided we don't veer into slander/defamation territory). Key thing always - show your workings!

Loathed strangers is good but it can be a bit of an echo chamber of supporters with basically the same views. When they descend into slagging off supporters with opposite views I tend to switch off.

I'm a regular listener and whilst it's clear the stance the podcasts are taking, I don't recall what you have suggested. What were the examples of slagging off that forced you to switch off?

Yeah I don't recall them slagging off different views either.

I get frustration at apathy, maybe that was mentioned?

I remember it being said if people just want to go and watch football that's great.

Maybe though I tune out some of it. So examples would be great, good feedback.

I think history tells us that it’s right to ask these questions.

As for a suggestion that the LSPod criticises anyone with contrary views, I would say that it is pretty boneheaded for anyone to have any view except that our owners are malignant. Look at the evidence. Look at the league position. Look at the way decisions are made. By all means Bob, focus on the football and enjoy it, but for some (myself included) the fact that a group of organised criminals (which is fact) are running our club, with no apparent incentive other than self-interest, with a refusal to sell, is enough evidence to be worried, and to detract from any sense of temporary joy at what might happen on the pitch or any sense of pride. We want to be proud of our club again, rather than have a money launderer and cocaine dealer calling the shots.

There was a bit of a swing taken at the "some people are never happy" perspective recently, but that perspective is, to put it politely, moronic.

I think most people agree the current ownership is not ideal - but supporters express their views in different ways, some don’t engage in the ‘issues’ it doesn’t make them moronic or any less of a supporter.

Someone on a fb post the other day called another supporter a mug for having a pop about the ownership, and said Clem had 'saved the club'.

I think he meant that "some people are never happy" was put to the LSPOD, which they then defended why they weren't happy. i.e. Expecting everyone to be happy given where we are is moroonic was nemo's point. I think.

Not that perople who hold opposing/no views are moronic. Though its nice to get the reasoning behind apposing views even if no consensus is found

Yeah LSPOD is not in any sort of habit of slagging fans off so i don't know where that comes from, and anytime they call out a criticism it's in response to sometimes, not abusive, but very frank responses on their request for listener contribution.  Most recent example was the STFC supporters in OZ account that outright accused the LSPOD of never being happy whatever happens.

I know Terry can come across as "he knows better, and anyone that has a different view is an idiot" sometimes, but anyone that listens regularly and remembers when he posted on here, the majority of the time what he says makes sense, he just delivers it in a way that can wind some sensitive souls up.   He is very popular with the majority (as is Dan of course, SIGH) but if it is that causing you to switch off without agreeing with most of what he says then fair enough I guess - it's just opinions, i don't agree with all of them but most of it matches mine.

Anyone who says that with our current league position is a complete fucking idiot.

Wondering why you're getting mocked off of the back of as asinine statement like that is like putting your hand in a fire and wondering why you got burned.

The person who made said moronic statement is very much not in agreement that the current ownership is not ideal.

At all.

Game of opinions and all that, but I couldn’t disagree with that any more, I find the LSPOD a quite reasonable listen that cover almost all bases

I agree to an extent.

Some people don't have the time or inclination to engage with the harm that the ownership has and is creating.

The longevity of the ownership is reliant upon there being a percentage of the supporters that will remain silent.

So their silence does, like it or not, contribute to the ability of the ownership to continue as they are. I struggle to find any credible argument for anyone that actively supports the ownership, or actively discourages those that are trying to shine a light on their failings.

These things are nuanced issues - not binary - but if there are two camps I see it as:

1/ those against the ownership because they're taking us on a one way trip to the Conference and insolvency never to return, whilst making sure they line their own pockets - who are desperate for us to have some of those shiny new owners that other clubs get and the possibility of some future hope

and then there are also -

2/ those who actively support the owners who "saved us" (from themselves!), and in doing so, perpetuate the time that they have in charge and increase the chance we'll go out of business or become conference dwellers.

In practice, the majority probably sit in the middle. They sympathise with those in Camp 1, but can't or won't do anything about it apart from slowly enjoy their club less and less.
