Swindon Town Football Club have parted company with head coach Mark Kennedy.
Marcus Bignot, Steve Mildenhall and Gavin Gunning will continue in their current positions, with all three first-team coaches in place to oversee this weekend's game against Gillingham.
Everyone at Swindon Town Football Club would like to express their appreciation to Mark for his commitment and hard work during his time with the Club and wish him all the best in the future.
A further update on the club's new head coach will be provided at the end of January.

Caught myself feeling quite bad for MK. Can't imagine what it's like to lose a parent and I'm sure he was trying his best.
Had to remind myself though that just like the ownership, Kennedy regularly insulted our intelligence by spouting nonsense about what was happening on the pitch.
His treatment of Minturn didn't sit well with me either.
He had no idea what to do with Glatzel. That was a big red flag from as early as pre season.
Hard to celebrate this when we know it'll just be Gunning.

This is 100% what I thought as well. I didn't dislike MK at all, but he was trying so hard to be unliked.

Didn't seem like a bad guy, but was making a bad situation worse.
Excited to have three managers for the weekend.

Maybe, just maybe, Clem has learned his lesson after this exact same situation has happened every season he's been here, and has put appropriate clauses in the contract which means we can get rid of Kennedy without financial ruin, and also has another manager waiting in the wings to take over immediately.
Maybe. Maybe not mind.

Yet another manager under Morfuni bites the dust....
Yes he wasn't good or getting the best out of the players- however the problems as we know run far deeper at the club in terms of serious lack of football experience at the top

This lot won't appointment anyone they can't control and won't blow the whistle on any dodgy dealings, so that rules Holloway out.
Whoever it is just needs to be good enough to steer us to safety.

I do feel a bit sorry for Kennedy. He didn't come across like an odious cunt a la Sheridan but he just couldn't get any sort of a tune out of our players.
I hope we get an external appointment and not from within. There's still time left for a semi decent season.

Can’t elicit much feeling towards this. Replacing just the manager at this club is like putting a plaster on an axe wound. Replace the whole coaching setup and director of football and you may get some more effective change but they’ll still probably be hamstrung from the levels above them.
Can’t care much for who comes in to replace MK either.
Think this did need to happen for all parties though, it was only going to get worse as time went on and now we can get on with appointing the next 6-8 month manager and MK can move on elsewhere without too much of a blot on his CV due to the nature of our club which people in football are surely well aware of.
The purgatory goes on.
