So far so good.

Mine you, was in a similar position with Flynn last year and he was starting to annoy me by the end!

At least Kennedy is around and making the right noises

Comes across as an intelligent, thoughtful man. A combination of pragmatism and football ideology. I like him.
Agreed, on first showing anyway.

Yeah he has been the best communicator of recent managers. Much improved on all of Clems appointments. Lets hope he is as good at coaching and managing.

He has the advantage of having to build his own squad with so few 1st team players still being contracted.

This signing has also fallen under the ‘we’ll sign more experience’ promise.

Keep it up STFC.

If he's smart he'll keep an extra copy of Clems chequebook so it doesn't go missing again when we need to fill the squad.

Just a thought / question on financial aspects - could Flynn getting his new job have freed up some cash as presumably he had still been on our payroll?
If so, I guess it just offsets slightly the fall in ST revenue.

I suspect Kennedy is getting paid though - so no offset.

But Flynn plus Hatwell plus Kennedy plus a new no.2 = 4 wages.  Kennedy plus a new no. 2 = 2 wages.

So 2 wages no longer being paid (I assume Hatwell has follwed Flynn) if their pay out from us is no longer.  That is an ofset unless I'm missing something?

Not saying it might be a massive amount but there was a large extension negotiated after the opening decent run last season.

We'll never know but it would be interesting to see what the income v the outgoings were for all our managerial shenanigans.

Garner - Seemingly we got compensation for him but there was also chat he was out of contract so we got nada. He also took his assistant who we got compo for didn't we. Net result +
Lindsay - Compo received from Crawley. Net result +
Morris/Brand - Sacked. I assume we had to pay them compensation. Net result -
Flynn/Hatswell - Sacked after being given a large contract extension. Net result -

I wonder if the Morris/Brand saga cost Clem and co a pretty penny to sort out, and I'm sure Flynn needing to be compensated after given a contract extension wouldn't have helped?

I may be wildly off kilter here mind.

There was talk/speculation of a 'maximum payout' clause that was less than their full contract.

Can't see why they'd sign up to that tbh, but I guess it's possible

I have been told that Flynn and Hatswell only got a 6 month pay off anyway so they are off the books now even without then taking over at 'Numb. So thats a large chunk of coaching budget that can be put back into the coaching side, on paper at least.

Give Gunning a big pay rise? Wink

Is the delay of signing a new No 2 just a way of saving money and forcing him to use Gunning ?, and appoint a coach once pre season training starts (does anyone know when the few players we have are due back ?)
