That’s quite a tenuous link isn’t it…

I mean don’t get me wrong - it could very well be the link…

…but…just because he was in International squads with Dean Kiely doesn’t mean they were even mates. Let alone good enough mates that you’d be able to get his son to give you job 20+ years after you went to a WC together…

Plenty of people I played football with 10-15 years ago that wouldn’t sort me out a job just because we were team mates.

Is there anything else to indicate Mark & Dean are close friends?

I don't think that this will come as a massive surprise to anyone on this forum.

So are you saying we only need to get a better defence? I hope not. We’ve more ground staff than 1st team players. We need a whole new team. As a minimum.
Not at all but defence must be a priority and then get some attacking players IMO.

We have Glatzel and Drinan and possibly McGurk as attacking options, what do we have in defence? Dokes and Kokolo? not exactly defensive defenders.

After a short lived and rather tempered rise in optimism, everything will turn out to be a toxic anticlimactic mess which further erodes what little good standing or reputation the club has in football circles under the current "leadership".

Can see Dokes getting bids too.

Interview full of cliches about 'the project' and 'club DNA'. Very poor reviews from Lincoln fans.

Why the hell is Gunning being kept on?

Jury remains firmly out with this regime.

If we are seriously looking to challenge for the play offs, then I would only consider Dokes, Khan and Glatzel as  good enough to make the starting eleven, with Bycroft, Johnson, Kokolo and Drinan possible options from the bench. Minturn needs a season long loan at a National league side and Dworzak plus all the youths at National league South or below. Would look to offload Cain and Aguair - neither offer enough for me at league 2 level. So a minimum of 11 new quality signings - if they manage that I will be amazed.

Are any of them currently raping football clubs and already have a relationship of having mates on the take?

If so you might want to chance your arm.

Yes Glatzel and Drinan are an above decent front 2 in this division

I also think McGurk (if he does sign again) will be a handful, he scored 2 good goals and only played just over 400 mins in totaly so under 5 whole games, he will get stronger and fitter (and hopefully better) when given game time.

Came over fairly well in the presser, with all the caveats we already know. He comes across as a manger that any League Two might appoint, which Gunning never did. Might go well, might go badly, but he isn't a "we've given up" appointment.
