Perfection is not attainable

It was as if the players were given license to go out and attack and play football not just keep possession at all costs, most enjoyable game of the season, even better than Mansfield away.

We absolutely destroyed Grimsby today all over the pitch.

Really handy goal difference boost. More in keeping with those in the play-offs.

My two favourite internet comments both from Grimsby fans today.

1) the guy with the 4,000 ish attendance prediction

2) the hot take on how Austin is “done”

Hopefully get the new man in soon. May need some more reinforcements than we thought if Gladwin and Reed are off?

We were excellent to a man. No stand out performers for me, everyone was excellent. Great job Swindon

Khan oozes class. I don't think you can teach what he has. He just glides past people. Takes it in tight spaces.

His longer range passing could be tidied up a notch but this is somebody we absolutely must keep hold of.

Gladwin, Reed, Adeloye and Roberts all absent without known injuries right? Would assume the latter two would be loan moves.

Allegedly. Just the convenient timing makes you wonder.

Feel good win. Great to see Austin roll back the years.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. They're a poor side and were down to 10. Our squad is still imbalanced and requires more work this Jan. Something to build on - vital that the new manager is the right one and not another joke like Lindsey.
How do you think it compared to any number of previous performances against poor sides with ten men -not least against the next visitors to the CG at the Priestfield?

Yes we were playing against weakened opposition but for comparison, what do you do think the score would’ve been playing Lindseyball?

Well that was unexpected and everything the first half of the season wasn’t. Amazing what fast paced direct football running at the opposition does. Players were playing off the leash and playing their natural game.

If I was a Crawley fan I’d be bricking it, about as clear example of a manager being the problem as you can get. Any lingering doubts anyone had about Lindsey’s culpability firmly put to bed.

Incredibly small sample size but none of them were missed today.

Cant help but feel Reed & Gladwin would have slowed us down today

I'm not arsed about Reed. Great last season, very poor this season. If we can get money for him then great. Re-invest it and move on. Khan has played his role quite well this season. What Khan lacks with his passing range he more than makes up for with his dribbling and driving the team forward.

Mate, just be happy for 5 minutes or do one.

Yes, they had 10 for 70 minutes but how many times over the years have we not taken advantage of that? We were all over them from the start when they had 11 anyway.

Can only beat what’s in front you - which is something we haven’t been doing recently anyway

Plenty of positives in there. Just erring on the side of caution as we haven't exactly built on good performances/wins this season (e.g Mansfield and Northampton).

Won't be 'doing' one, thanks.
