I’m not an over the top fan boy but would like to see Messi lift the WC Cup. Won’t say he’s the best of all time cos the likes of Pele were before my time but Messi is best player of my lifetime that I’ve seen and deserves to lift this one IMO

Would like to see France win it in a final vs Argentina. If Croatia (very unlikely now) or Morocco get to the final then they will just play for a clean sheet and either win the game 1-0 or win via penalties.

Coverage of football at the moment is just very obsessed with individuals. It's kinda why they don't know how to cover Morocco, whose best player so far has been a defensive midfielder who has never scored an international goal.

This, I must confess it would be lovely to have a Morocco win, but if it comes down to an Arg-Fra final I would probably like Arg to win it just to know how much that would piss Ronaldo off. |

A bit of a strange game last night. I thought Croatia controlled things for the first 30 minutes without actually doing anything goal bound of note. (Was a bit like watching Swindon) Modric at 37 is such an amazing footballer to watch. Argentina thanks to some awful defending (there's the Swindon reference again) got their penalty and a quick second and that was pretty much that. Croatia tried hard but Argentina defended well enough and Messi created the third. After losing their first game to Saudi Arabia, they have done well to come back and get to the final. Yes their route hasn't exactly been fraught with danger but in spells they have looked decent.
As for tonight - I'm in 2 minds. Half of me thinks that France weren't very convincing against England and Morocco can contain them and half of me thinks France will come out all guns blazing, score early and put the game to bed. I'm hoping the former as a Morocco v Argentina final would be fascinating (and noisy!)
