Mourinho = loose canon.
The suits at the FA would never go for that.

…that’s all part of the successful persona though…

Yeah, that's true.

There are managers out there with that ruthless winning mentality that arguably might have made the difference in the last three tournaments.

Semi final time!

Argentina v Croatia tonight is fascinating. I may be wrong but in the last World Cup en route to the final didn't Croatia play a few games that went to Extra Time also? (sadly not against England in the semi) I know that a lot of people thought they would be tired but it seems they don't seem to be affected. I've been impressed with Argentina from what I have seen - I only saw the penalty shoot out against the Dutch but previously I thought they looked strong and powerful.

I'm going to predict Argentina possibly in extra time. Should be a tight game mind you!

England are the only team they've beaten without penalties (still in extra time) in the last two world cup knockout phases - four games won on penalties (Brazil, Japan, Russia, Denmark) plus the loss to France in the final.

You're quite right, I misremembered - the stat is that England are the only team they've beaten without penalties, the other four extra time games all went to spot kicks (in which Croatia are 4/4).

Manzukic scored the winner in ET, I also misremembered!

Mourinho's successful persona seems to have drained away over the last 5 years and he has become more of a moaning pain in the arse which I cannot see the FA or the English media putting up with. Albeit if the FA spoke to Tuchel, which has been suggested, who knows.

predicting an awful showing. I don't think either have played well enough to get there but they are are and that's football. will be a game of tight organisation and not many chances.

Seemed a safe bet beforehand but not turning out that way.

City’s backup striker certainly earned his luck there

Also expected this to be dull and tight but it’s far from it, decent game
