Indeed, maybe hes just learning from his errors previously.

Is he though?  We are 1 nil up, if we end up conceding, he will be criticised for that..

Bizzare that he has switched to 2 up front when we are 1nil up away to Donny, but left one up front when we were 0-0 away to the Gills..  against 10 men

Learning on the job?

I never noticed that it was out "Auld Enemy" Keiran Agard came on for them.

Based on what he said before the game, there's some logic to it - he said that he didn't do it against Gillingham as there was so little space in the final third. Now Doncaster have to push forward, there should be more space for two strikers to operate. It's not the obvious approach, but there's a consistency to it at least.

…but every team under extended pressure are going to get men behind the ball.
You’re still more likely to create something with more players in a smaller space than having less players  in a slightly bigger space.
To me it would be more about the player:player ratio. If they have 5 defenders you’re going to do better with 5 strikers. Smaller space but 1:1. Leave 1 up front you have lots of space but it’s 5:1

Odd take

Fifth team he's played against us for - Rotherham, Bristol City, Plymouth & MK before now.

I'm not saying I especially agree, I just think it's consistent with what he said pre-game. Time will tell if his tactical ideas are correct, but he clearly has a few. Glad he seems to have started talking about them in a bit more detail with the local press, helps get a feel for him as a coach.
