Got them in the Champions League after winning a major trophy, seems harsh. He will land on his feet, though.

They had for themselves into a hilarious damned if you do, damned if you don't situation with how unbelievably shit they were in the league. Spurs and United being the two teams just outside the relegation zone was glorious, and I think we all hope they go one better next year...

Kinda feels harsh but you cant really blame them for parting ways. Spurs cant be finishing 17th. And yes, although they did win the Europa League, it's of a very poor standard now the Champions League formate has changed. It's a bit of a win-win for Ange. He's got a nice payout, he's escaped Spurs, won a major trophy and therefore his stock has gone up.

I am old enough to remember Spurs being relegated in 1977 under Burkinshaw with a team containing Pat Jennings, Glenn Hoddle, Neil McNabb, Steve Perryman, Peter Taylor, Gerry Armstrong and John Duncan.

Well put, presumably Spurs have a candidate lined up to take over the poisoned chalice. Whoever it is, good luck with that.

Backward step from Brentford! As Crozzer says managing Spurs (or Man Utd) is a true poisoned chalice for any manager or any pedigree and history it seems.

Doubt he would get a better chance at the Champions League though to be fair.

Had the bottom three not been so undeniably shite, one of those two {or both} could have been relegated on that points tally. In similar tones, had Town continued their Kennedy form, only the shiteness of a spiralling Carlisle and equally poor Morecambe would have helped Town escape - but it would have been close NB: Is this concise enough for everybody #BackToWatchingMyWordCount
