Hasn't Derek Adams got a reputation of being quite hard work / marmite? If the new owners can't click with him, then fair to move him on. As for the new manager - he seems to have worked for a decade in junior coaching roles, under some impressive names, and could just be a good news story. I appreciate Morecambe fans have been through a lot, but I think / hope this could end up well.

Careful with that can of worms, that’s getting very close to Sol Campbell territory? FWIW I don't suspect there will be many managers in the NL with a UEFA Pro Licence https://www.ashvirjohal.com/

It's pretty normal for new owners to bring in their own manager. Fella will be on a bit of a hiding to nothing if he doesn't do well, but it's not like that's not true of any new manager. Certainly a bit of a red flag for the owners decision making, but Morecambe fans are used to red flags.

Oh hes got good coaching credentials but then so did Luke Williams, neither played professional football either and started coaching at a very young age.

Tbf whatever we may think, Williams has managed 216 games at a 40%+ win rate which isn't too shabby.

Yeah I know. He's qualified and yes people do bring in their own man all the time.

But you can't tell me religion has nothing to do with it. But I guess all appointments under such circumstances have some reason for the appointment that make you wonder if it's 'best candidate'.

Wayne Rooney for e.g.

Yes but only 168 of those games were in the EFL and he only won 55 of them giving him a win rate of just 32% in the EFL as 32 of his wins came in the Conference.

Wasn’t it a couple of seasons ago they went their first 10 games or so without scoring?

Yes, with manager, Wade Elliott, departing after picking up one point from eight league matches without scoring.  Some may remember Elliott being sent off against Swindon when playing for Bristol City for head-butting Jack Stephens.

Darrell Clarke eventually took over at Cheltenham with the club being relegated on the last day of the season.
