https://bold.dk/fodbold/stillinger/1-division/nyheder/ac-horsens-byder-pa-league-two-angriberA Danish journalist stating AC Horsens (3rd last year in Denmark 2nd tier) are the team who had a bid rejected for Harry Smith. Translated the article and the only bit of info was “ The latest development is that AC Horsens has now made a bid and hopes that an agreement can be reached with Swindon Town FC, as they see it as important in the pursuit of promotion to the Superliga.” Neigh chance. They are an unstable club.

Hope withers? Don't think so. It's all bollhocks.
Decent money but Smith is too integral to change the gameplan at this stage you'd think.

Somebody on twitter reckons we should hold out for 500k, then spend 300k on a replacement.
I did have a chuckle. This ownership aren't spending 300k on anybody. Regardless of any sales.

Loan Round Up:
Sonny Hart is an unused sub (for the 4th game in row) as Aberdeen knock Greenock Morton out the Scottish League Cup.
Harrison Minturn plays his first 90 minutes in 8 months as Chippenham lose 1-0 at home to Ebbsfleet United.
Dylan Mitchell is an unused sub as Weston-Super-Mare drew 0-0 with Chelmsford City.
Redman Evans keeps a clean sheet as Alvechurch FC beat AFC Sudbury 2-0.
Dani Gonzalez was sent off after 39 minutes as Supermarine drew 1-1 in the FA Cup qualifiers against Alton FC. Lucas Myers and George Alston began the game as subs.

I get a good feeling about Redman Evans. Was disappointed his loan wasnt higher!

Agreed a good talent - last thing we need is Ripley’s injury getting worse and potentially having to recall him.

Heard it's definitely an ACL for Smith. Could be the last we see of him unfortunately. Hope he recovers and is back stronger, of course.

Horrendous news. Feel for Smith.
However, we need to snap out of this mentality that it's Smith or bust for the season
To be relying on a 30 year old journeyman Centre Forward and pinning our entire hopes on him. I'm a massive fan of Smith but this isn't a sustainable way to build a team. He's not Messi for fuck sake.
This indicates a problem with recruitment.

Indeed and the good thing is we have a million other forwards. It's now for Holloway to work out how best to utilise them

I think we all accept it’s a shit way to recruit but the fact is that the way the squad has been built and style it plays is Smith or bust. Asking a lot to reinvent the style this late in the day, would also need multiple new recruits and is there budget for that?
