The turns will make it a lot harder though, straight line running is much faster as you slow to turn.
Indeed when I first did the maths - I thought purely straight line running I reckon with a bit of training I could probably do it. Turning will kill it. Not just speed but definitely harsher on the muscles & joints. Even more so if you have to touch the cone with your hand as well…

It was some sort of showcase game, as I understand it was a group of non-league's best playing Wolves U21s.

Assume that calling them Estudiantes was a tongue in cheek gag then...

Estudiantes is a football-for-development project based in Tottenham in London. We work with young people to help them acquire the skills and qualifications ..

Thanks. I understand the impact of intensive and short sharp runs will be more aggressive with big directional changes for sure

Sorry, just saw your post after replying. My line of thinking was similar. Although it may kill it, I still can't help but think an elite performer would be able to condition/train to limit the factors in helping them to prevent losing too much time. Straight line, a relatively fit and training young adult should probably achieve anything from a 4 to 6 minute mile. Be interesting to marry up the ''run'' with their straight line running times. To see what the ''loss'' looks like in pure data and the differential between ages groups as well.

Just to give us an *idea* of how much budget we might have left, I like to write out all the names that left us in the summer and see 'roughly' who they've been replaced by. Obviously they won't all be like for like, and you can argue one name for another.
Bycroft = ?? Ofoborh = Oldaker McGurk = ?? Uwakwe = Ball Hall = ?? Cox = ?? Khan = ?? Cain = ?? Cotterill = Snowdon Johnson = ?? Freckleton = Mabete Westley = Tabor Tshimanga = ??
Now it's obviously hard to know what % of wages we were paying for our loans, but I'd imagine Tshimanga didn't come particularly cheap. Hall, Cox and Khan were also likely to be on a fair bit.
I would certainly hope there's plenty of budget left, but you never know with this ownership. Just how much has it been cut?

Sam M said that the playing budget was "more than at this time last summer, but less than by the end of the window" - we know the budget was increased to pay for Tshimanga and Kilkenny at least on deadline day.
You also need to remember that quite a few of the renewals probably got a fairly significant wage rise- McGregor in particular has gone from a first year pro contract (not far off minimum wage) to a 'proper' one.

Yes thats probably enough for 2 semi decent L2 players. Also I expect Nichols was signed for a decent wage and I doubt we paid his full wage at Mansfield for the loan so that would probably cover say Johnsons wage. Bycroft = Ward (probably) Ofoborh = Oldaker McGurk = ?? Uwakwe = Ball Hall = ?? Cox = ?? Khan = Pitch Cain = Pitch Cotterill = Snowdon Johnson = Nichols (extra wages) Freckleton = Mabete Westley = Tabor Tshimanga = ?? So if Lewis Ward does sign as expected then there is scope probably for another 4 decent wages based on last seasons budget. Ollie in his interview said he didnt want to rely on loans this season too so any loan deals will be done very late in the window if we cant fill the spaces in the squad.

Getting Hall and Tshimanga wages out has freed up a lot of space. I think we will see 5 in (LCB,LWB,LW/F, ST, RWB) (Not including Ward) with possibly 2 out (Ameen, Sobowale) My reasoning for Sobowale out is I think he is looking for a Cotterill type CM who can play RWB/RM. If this happens we will definitely be a lower budget than last year.

Tshimanga wasn't on anywhere near as much wage wise as many fans seem to think from what I have heard, not even a top 4 earner. Hall definately was on a good whack though.
