So as it stands, this is how I feel we will line up (with no additions) going by the line ups so far in the first 2 friendlies. Kennedy seems to favour a 343 formation. I can't see room for Drinan and Smith in the same team but who knows. The first 11 seem pretty solid TBH but we definately need more depth on the bench.

               Bycroft
    Delaney      Hall     Wright
Sobowale    Clarke   Ofoborh       Longelo
       Glatzel             McGurk
                Smith

1st team squad members
Johnson
Minturn
Khan
Cain
Mitchell
Drinan
Uwakwe (Injured)
Aguiar

Young 1st year pros and youngsters.
Brown
Dworzak
MacGregor
Brown
Hart
Evans
Obodo
Ameen

I fully expect Aguiar and possibly Cain to leave, Uwakwe I think we will wait until hes fully fit before making a decision on and a few (Dworzak, MacGregor, Brown, Hart) to go out on development loans.

Of course if we let 2/3 players go then we will need to replace them, I hear another midfielder and a fast wide striker are lined up already if there is enough wiggle room in the budget.

We’ve been playing wing backs in pre-season haven’t we?
I would say we currently aren’t far off having enough depth for 2 per position

Bycroft / Evans as keepers.

Wright / Delaney / Hall / Minturn / Johnson / Hart as CBs
Solowale / McGregor as RWBs
Longelo as LWB (obviously Kokolo going leaves a spot here, not sure Uwakwe is the person to fill it?)

Clarke / Khan / Ofoborh / McGurk / Cain / Mitchell / Brown / Aguiar / Dworzak as CMs

Smith / Drinan / Glatzel as STs

…for me - I’d like to see another LWB in. A CM more in the creative #10 type mould and although we probably won t use them I’d love to see some wingers / wide forwards for the flexibility of a 442 or 433 or 343.

I know he’s gone but I always Kokolo was rare as a L2 WB in that I felt he was just as good defensive as he was going forward. Like he could play anywhere on the left hand side be that LB, LWB, LW or even wide left striker at a push.

I think McGregor has done well enough that he's a 1st team squad member. Ignore the rest of the youngsters from a serious 24 man squad.

In your list of 1st team squad members i would exclude Johnson (he was bought last season as a long term project) and Mitchell (bought this season as a long term project).

So in reality currently we have 7 squad members where you want 11 (or 13 for the 24 man squad). I don't rate Aguiar either.

So at least 4 players are needed. GK, CB, Creative midfielder, and a fast striker that can play wide.

Subject to who those 4 are i also look at this squad and wonder if it really looks like a squad built with a bigger budget, not so sure.

Surely at least one, possibly all will be gone from Khan, Cain and Aguiar. I guess we cross that bridge when we get to it

Budget size aside it does appear that more thought has gone into recruitment this time, which does offer a small seedling of encouragement when dusting down the route maps ahead of the new season.

Comfortable mid table finish. To good to panic, not consistent enough to go up.

Not the Clifton Suspension Bridge, at least not today.

You would go anyway WB, regardless.

Well, yeah but try not to go about it blindly & it's not a given.

Winning a few games & not conceding what seems like 20million goals would lessen the pain.

Never kicked on after his first handful of games when he looked decent, good move for him and us.

This generations Thomas Dossevi.
First few games ‘wow, he looks decent’ never to replicate that type of performance again…
