Interesting that they've put that out, saying they couldn't do it for safeguarding reasons in the Advisory Board notes. Glad to see it though.

Surprised Kanu didn't get an extended scholarship, he was so highly though of before his injury. Shows how cruel the academy system can be really.

Is he fit now?

Wouldn’t hurt to give him a pre-season run out or two would it?

I noticed Kanu in an U18’s training clip last week.

Think he’s probably been overtaken by Obodo

Perhaps but Obodo is a year younger right?
So - there is no reason we can’t keep both is there?

Like you could argue Botem Ameen is ahead of Obodo but doesn’t mean we have to discard him.

As Nemo has said before Kanu on an extended scholarship would have made sense all round wouldn’t it?
Even if he trains with the first team. Plays in whatever it’s called trophy crap & doesn’t even play in the U18s taking game time away from Obodo & Ameen

If we had invested in a proper Academy, like they said they wanted to do and still claim, then these players would have a home for a couple more years.  It's bloody expensive though, so we set-up a club in Karachi instead.

Yes, and then didn't mention him on any of the release statements. Strange one.

‘The club can also confirm that following the end of their agreement, Logan Coles and Harvey Fox have also departed the club.’

You're quite right, it just was further down the article. Anyone know who Logan Coles is/was?

He was with the academy at a young age until we sold him into Chelsea, he came back around Christmas time.

So as it stands, this is how I feel we will line up (with no additions) going by the line ups so far in the first 2 friendlies. Kennedy seems to favour a 343 formation. I can't see room for Drinan and Smith in the same team but who knows. The first 11 seem pretty solid TBH but we definately need more depth on the bench.

               Bycroft
    Delaney      Hall     Wright
Sobowale    Clarke   Ofoborh       Longelo
       Glatzel             McGurk
                Smith

1st team squad members
Johnson
Minturn
Khan
Cain
Mitchell
Drinan
Uwakwe (Injured)
Aguiar

Young 1st year pros and youngsters.
Brown
Dworzak
MacGregor
Brown
Hart
Evans
Obodo
Ameen

I fully expect Aguiar and possibly Cain to leave, Uwakwe I think we will wait until hes fully fit before making a decision on and a few (Dworzak, MacGregor, Brown, Hart) to go out on development loans.

Of course if we let 2/3 players go then we will need to replace them, I hear another midfielder and a fast wide striker are lined up already if there is enough wiggle room in the budget.

Well, we know where we're goin'
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out
