They really don't. Something about 'you better not have an opinion' and 'she'll keep younger fans away'

But another fan from her previous club (forget, maybe Darlington) said she did a good job keeping things going under tough circumstances.

Either way she's got football experience, and also as secretary unlikely to be involved with fans directly anyway

Welcome to her.
I don't know how fans can have the faintest idea as to the merits or otherwise of their club secretary. It reminds me of a discussion on here, absolutely eons ago about how good various assistant managers were...was John Gorman a better no.2 than Mike.Walsh etc. My point then was how could we possibly know? All we see of the assistant manager is perhaps picking up the cones when the players have finished warming up before the game....and the concept of the cone gatherer was born. Same applies here, if you don't get a points deduction for fielding an illegible player, the Club Secretary must be doing a reasonable job...

She was COO at Barrow i think, but the same though process applies. Unless she was incredibly outspoken or whatever.

We wanted staff with football experience, and now we've got one. Happy with that.

Very much this. I think it's far too easy to look for the negatives these days. This is also an important position that has needed to be filled quickly, and we've done it.

Barrow fans not very complimentary about her

Her not being from Barrow would inevitably count against her in many Barrovians eyes....
