They've been involved with the club since 1994 haven't they? The DRS used to be the Nationwide stand when it was built wasn't it?
‘Twas the Intel stand originally. Then the Nationwide whilst they were also out shirt sponsors. Got it in my head Nationwide stopped for a bit around 08 when we changed shirt sponsor to Kingswood Construction - hence it becoming the Don Rogers stand.

Ah yes that's right. Someone on SM suggested its hardly surprising as Nationwide are struggling financially. Not sure that's completely true is it?

Considering the relative cost of sponsorship and their cash stockpiles, I'd say that's BS (bullshit, not building society)

Total bollocks. We've just had our 3 best years on record. Bonuses have been around 10% each of the last 4 years and we paid £3 billion for Virgin Money, did a deep dive audit and found it had assets worth £5 billion.

Like buying a sofa for £100 and finding a wad of £50 notes stuffed inside of it! I am sure Nationwide looked at the bigger picture and made their mind up based upon information they had found about the current owner and thought...do we really want to be associated with these people and continue to fund them...and the answer was blatantly a no.

We've had unsavoury owners before and they've carried on sponsoring, I imagine it's less of a value judgement about the club and more about the club's side not being a fan of the NBS staff ticketing arrangement.
Either way if they're not even going to be sponsoring a few boards around the side then it's a real loss.

TBF this has been hinted at elsewhere.

Interesting gamble by the club ** IF ** they've made the deal unattractive - Corporate do decide sponsorship policy change every now and again.
But f the club have made it financially not worth their while then its an interesting gamble to see how many employees carry on at a normal price.
Shame to lose a very long standing sponsor either way.

Nationwide are handing out 50 and 100s to members they're doing so well. The mental gymnastics some will do to justify any bit of bad news towards Clem and co is fucking staggering.

On the one hand, this was bound to happen once Hall started going on about the revenue per ticket and pointing the finger squarely at Season Ticket holders and then commercial arrangements. On the other hand, while our revenue per ticket may go up, there is probably a question mark about total Revenue given we will likely see a few less sold and we have a pretty poor ability to milk the fans once in the ground (in fact, we have a problem even getting them in the ground).

We average out at about a half full stadium, the maths don't fucking math. Hall won't ever admit he is wrong about this.
