I don’t think we have benefited much from Nationwide’s sponsorship for years. If Nationwide employees only attend games because cheap tickets they’re probably not proper supporters anyway OR nationwide don’t pay their employees enough.

Yay, fewer fans. Result. Coffee queues and getting out the stand will be much easier.

Please can you define "proper supporters" Bob. Perish the thought I'm taking up an otherwise empty seat under false pretences.

There certainly are freeloaders at the club, I would - however- not include the fans in that bracket

Why don’t you think the club has benefitted much from Nationwides sponsorship? Have you got any facts, figures or accounts to back up this opinion?

Do you know how many employees used the Nationwide ticketing discounts on a weekly basis?

….and do you know the average wage of a Nationwide employee or are you just waffling absolute bullshit in order to defend the club with absolutely no proof or evidence to back up your hollow words?

Sometimes when you post, I think maybe he is just poking a bit to ensure both sides of an argument are considered.  This one though, really?

Bradford took the alternative approach to attendances - drop the price and fill the stadium.  As a result, their average ticket prices are well below ours, and they are one of a few clubs with a lower average revenue per customer (taking total Revenue and simply dividing by total attendances).  However, they bring in close to 9m in Revenue as a result - they earn as much extra per customer over ticket costs if not a little more than us, which means the volume creates more Revenue.  That is between 2m and 3m more than us, but yeah, creative ways of getting people into a football ground are clearly not worth it!!!!

Actually, getting them into the ground would be a good starting point after selling them the ticket.  The debacle that is our turnstile arrangements tells you everything you need to know about the clubs senior leadership.  It's all about running as trim as possible, not thinking about how to earn money from the wallet of every fan.  The catering is terrible, if stocked, the merchandise is feeble (when they haven't shut the shop because Audrey is in Town) and by and large the entire set-up seems designed to simply get you to your seat at kick off and then fuck off at the end please.

Or in Kennedy’s case before the end!

I haven’t bought anything from the shop in ages now.

Have they got Clem toilet paper in stock?

Actually, Bob could help reduce it further if he could stand outside and tell the non-fans to fuck off before they get in.

Assuming 500 nationwide tickets a match, on average £10 cheaper than walk up prices

Assume 70% of these nationwide tickets were from fans who otherwise wouldn’t have gone

That’s £75k over a season (maths not peer reviewed). You’d need to assume c60% of those nationwide fans would buy a full price ticket for it to be a worthwhile cost exercise. I’m not sure about that

Aren’t Nationwide one of the companies we would be trying to sell the new hospitality boxes too, pretty good idea to piss off potential buyers then.

Just another example of how short sighted & piss poor the ownership group are.
