A lot of it boils down to trust, do the trust members trust Clem & Co to finance the redevelopment correctly, do the trust them to complete the redevelopment, do they trust them not to allow this to saddle the club with debt it may find hard to repay if we stay at L2 or get relegated, do they trust Clem & Co to be honest where the funding is going to come from.

Its about the word Trust and sadly it has been shown they cant be honest so they cant be trusted

Having seen the mess they made of the patio and sandpit outside the DR, I think there is a real concern about funding and ability to deliver a complex project that needs addressing by the club before they push for a vote.  That thing is worse than any dog park I have seen.

For me no surprise extra hospitality & exec boxes aren’t important to the ‘regular’ fans because really it’s not for them. It won’t change their match day experience much (if any) & they might at most make use of the new facilities once a season.

That doesn’t mean it isn’t what the club needs (club need anything that can generate more revenue) so for me, how important the fans feel it is - isn’t massively relevant.

Also, whilst I understand all the regular points that have been bought up - what I’d be curious to know if what the current demand for hospitality is like? …and how they plan to do it going forward.

Would all the hospitality go in this new section? Or would there still be hospitality in the Arkells as well? …and if that’s the case is there demand? How many games this season was the Arkells hospitality not only sold out but over subscribed to the point the club have had to turn interest parties away?

All this talk of maximising revenue, ROI etc does make me laugh. None of this matters to me when I’ll vote. It’ll be down to whether Morfuni et al will deliver on their promises (and deliver all this mystical ROI). And in my opinion, it’s a big fat no and nothing will change my mind.

Yes, there’s a slim chance they could deliver the vision, I have a slim chance of winning the lottery. But judging them on all their actions & word salads to date, the more likely scenario is the DRS being closed for a long time, contractors walking off site due to non payment and the finished article looking absolutely nothing like the pretty pictures. Or, all the money disappears and whoops, five years down the line we’ve somehow done a Northampton.

I think the club are trying to force through a development without the Trust voting yes.

I was told by someone with a bit of inside knowledge a couple of weeks ago that the club thought they could get it agreed with just the JV board vote, which has 2 club, 2 Trust & 2 Eady Trust members so ignoring the Trust members

But that would mean that BOTH Eady reps would have to vote with the club, including the one ho is aligned to Supporters interests?

Sorry, and this is not aimed at you as it seems to be endemic within the fan base, but these Chinese whispers and the paranoia within the fan base are helping no one. See also some prick posting bollocks about that was being said at the forum thingy and it rapidly being grasped as FACT despite those who were actually there refuting it, we have some very odd 'supporters' who seem to thrive on encouraging constant outrage

Long and short if the Trust vote goes no its deadlock we are probably looking at mediation and/or an arbitrator, what fun that will be!

Colchester have a sizeable debt owed to Cowling don't they? Circa 30 million quid or so.

I don't think the Eady reps have that power. There is no golden share. So if the Trust membership vote no, as you say, deadlock and mediation if the matter can't be resolved.

That's how I read it.

Nope. Saw one comment that the pizza was good, but I reckon its going to be difficult to get business with the cricket club end of season do on.

That's how I read it.

But they have a foot in both camps and it is suggested that in each camp the Eady rep follows the direction of travel of that camp so for instance if the Trust say no, then the Eady rep in the Trsut camp also says no so that’s 50% against, whilst the rep in the club side says yes (assuming that the club say yes) so that’s 50% so yeah no golden share just a simple deadlock.

I think we are actually saying the same thing here, the Eady reps don't seem to have the ability within the way its set up to have an opinion of their own.

There is interest out there, you would think we are a better proposition than Colchester but equally for e.g. there must be a reason these clubs are being picked up.

Of course we don't know what interest there has been with stfc and what response they was met with

There most certainly is interest, and people working towards that aim.  BUT, the ownership structure and potential blackholes of the intermingled relationships creates massive pause for those with the power of signature on funding.  That and the initial "asking price", which does focus the mind on needing to know all the potential pot holes (not that the final deal would have to be that asking price).
