There are indeed several buyers from the UK, USA and Europe waiting out there who have shown an interest in us, all of them will be weighing up if as such a basket case of a club would be an attractive proposition or not to tip their money into.

That is also if Clem (and co) can be persuaded to sell, which he appears to not be ready to do.

https://www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/25139882.lightwell-sports-group-advanced-talks-buy-colchester-united/

Colchester have a sizeable debt owed to Cowling don't they? Circa 30 million quid or so.
£33m debt at the last set of accounts.

I wonder if the rumoured famous British/American at Barrow investing actually came to fruition?

Not seen anything in the local press since the initial piece, although they did launch next seasons kits..... https://www.nwemail.co.uk/news/25138222.barrow-afc-kit-launch-biggest-club-history/

Cheers, still wierd seeing Barrow in the league and Carlisle not.

The only league team in Cumbria is akin to Chippenham or Salisbury making it into the EFL and Swindon relegated.

There is interest out there, you would think we are a better proposition than Colchester but equally for e.g. there must be a reason these clubs are being picked up.

Of course we don't know what interest there has been with stfc and what response they was met with

From memory, Colchester's ground is in the middle of nowhere, but has not a lot around it. Terrible really from a football fan's perspective, but from a property development standpoint, a potential goldmine?

Next AB is tomorrow, and then Clem flies back home.

But that would mean that BOTH Eady reps would have to vote with the club, including the one ho is aligned to Supporters interests?

Agreed, however I think that Clem & co probably think it would be easier to persuade one rep from the Eady trust rather than 75% of members of the supporters TRUST.

Hopefully it is as we believe & it’s just the member vote that matters, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the club have some dirty trick up their sleeves.

Beckham and Neville have been underwriting them for the last couple of seasons already.

So they will have even more financial muscle in League 2 next season it would seem, they are already 3rd highest playing budget in the division (allegedly).

Financial comparison (albeit slightly out of date) pending the next fairgame report

Honestly, I have no idea why Beckham/Neville would want to invest so much time & energy in to a project like Salford.  We've all got an opinion on the US investment in Wrexham...but you can at least argue that there's a community there and that they're building something that the local area can rally around.  Not so with Salford - which can never have it's own catchment even.  It's pure vanity.  Pointless FC.
