The decline in attendance is in my view down to three factors: 1) First season a promotion push, which ended in the play offs, first 10 games, average was c8,500 then a lot higher towards the end of the season. Since then the football on the field has been getting worse and worse until IH has taken over, which would put many people off. 2) First season you had the feel good factor (post power) - which has well and truly worn off 3) The new sky tv deal + dodgy sticks being more available, it will mean less home and away fans |

The 4th factor is clearly because of the ownership, not sure why a handful of people seem to totally ignore this. I do agree that it's not down to a single factor however.
It's been a long time since the Morfuni bucket hat goodwill express has left town.

How many home games have been on Sky this season? I dont think it’s as many as you believe. I personally dont think it’s had an effect on attendances.
Probably more than you think, guaranteed minimum of 20 games per season, although obviously not all at home. |

You know you can actually say it explicitly right? Shit ownership is a big factor in the reduction in attendances. It’s the only reason myself and the other half didn’t renew our season tickets and is the same for quite a few. You don’t need to be a club historian or whatever to know that fans are punch drunk from awful owners and having career criminals involved, consistently being lied to and treated with nothing but contempt has been the final straw for many! |
