Not making any excuses for the present shower but from visiting many grounds in northern outposts such boards invariably look as shite as ours does. I don't see what purpose they actually play any more with the interweb being at everyone's finger tips and at grounds they invariably look crap.

Weirdly you never saw one until social media was in full swing.

I wonder how many people walking past that sign have gone to matches off the back of the fixtures being advertised? I guess it's an old tradition that will probably go the way of the printed football program.

Although I see the club are using it for advertising, can't remember the company mind you.

Bennett, is that really a genuine reply?

@dave. I read it to mean there isn't a quick fix to the underlying issues, but (literally) today staying in the league is all that matters.

I dunno. I want more from the trust but can't work out what or how to get it.
Dunno, I’m on hols!

I guess a single statue enables it to be called statue park.  In the same way having it at a football ground allows it to be a fanzone rather than a gravel pit and shrubbery.

First you must find... another shrubbery! Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here, beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle. ("A path! A path!") Then, you must cut down the mightiest tree in the forrest... with... a herring!

I see Swinton Reds are up for striking off the register again, I assume for late presentation of accounts (which as an essentially dormant company will be a couple of pages saying nothing anyway).

Glad we are on top of things and have a competent CEO.

TBF I suggest its a sign of needing a competent accountant, we have literally nothing to do wit the CH administration of our business, its what you pay your accountants to do.

That's not to say that ensuring the accountants a company employs are competent is not down to the CEO/owner. I do wonder whether this is becoming a petty deliberate thing to watch the fans get their knickers in a twist each time it happens.

Actually looking at it now on computer screen rather than phone its due to a late confirmation statement rather than accounts, I also notice they have been fecking around a lot with the Article of Association over the last 18 months including removing of the pre-emption rights (I assume same that allowed Morfuni to get the club for a song), all associated no doubt with the dilution of the shareholdings.

My thought was that it's happened so many times it's the clubs problem to find better accountants.

But I'm not ruling out  the club dragging their heels with info/sigs forcing the accountants hands.

On the preemption rights - are they totally gone thus giving Clem the power to sell to who he wants?

We're fucked aren't we?

I know the trust were doing what they thought was best, but whats always saved us is the stability of the council owning the ground despite it holding us back.

Now they've gone and given half of it to an Australian con man.
