Just looked back at Kennedy's managerial stats. Macclesfield P12 W1 D3 L8 win rate 8.3% Ain’t great but you can’t keep just blaming the managers we all know the problems run far deeper. Sadly- don’t see this fanbase waking up till it’s too late they wil still be posing for selfies with Clem when we are bottom of the NL!

Controversial opinion but I'd be all for scrapping the women's team if it meant the men's set up moving forward.Womens team can wait til we're in a better situation in my opinion
I've always thought that. Get our own house in order before building the extension. Not scrapping but leaving outside the main FC to fund themselves at the expensive of pushing for a higher level for now. If its self funding then that's totally different. I don't follow much women's football, but why wouldn't we want that brought under the same umbrella.

It's not self funding, but neither is any other part of this football club. The overall budget is, I suspect, absolutely tiny.

When we first bought the women’s club under the STFC umbrella I was told by someone in the set up the current cost to run was about 12k & Clem was going to increase that the following seasons
…but this was a couple of years back just as they played their second game at the CG.
I dunno if the players even get paid. The Manager might be the only one actually employed by the club.

Funding for the women’s team is going to be an incredibly tiny part of the overall budget that scrapping it would make no difference

What we're spending on the whole womens football club will be a drop in the ocean compared to what we're spending on Hollie Kiely and Bethany Parladorio

It wouldn’t + why scrap something that is going well + relatively minimal cost.

Correct. I think the Womens team interest from Clem is down to the fact that if they can get promoted then the club actually starts to get some income from governing bodies, and therefore Clem thinks of it as a potential positive to finances.

There may be a little of that, but I think the driving force was the PR positivity it would provide to show how progressive the club was being. The only real positive to take from Clem's time at the club is it has shown how easy it can be to get a decent crowd size out of this Town with the right PR and engagement. In reality, the women's team is just another pointless distraction for a club that has the operational management and support structure of a local greasy spoon cafe. In the pile with the Aussie pay to play local kids club and Visa scheme in Pakistan. On their own, none of them probably hurts a well run club, but we seem to invest in some odd shit for a club that cannot replace a shop sign in a week or two. Removing them would do little to improve the situation, but they are all just signs of an either incoherent or corrupt operating plan.

It’s not a pointless distraction for those who enjoy it + yes the women’s game is growing and there is potential to make money out of it in the future.

It is indeed not a pointless distraction for those that watch and support that team. It is entirely a pointless distraction for a business to go and buy it (essentially) when it can't run it's main operation. My statement/opinion is not intended to slight the women's team, more so the management of the men's club, which is what it was.
