Charlie Austin was just on talksport. Quit league football as he couldn't stand the politics at lower league clubs & described people running clubs as knowing nothing about football. Can only have been talking about us. No surprises there really Tbh i think he was sold the same shit everyone else has been when he signed, broken promises etc

Yeah. Or maybe he just isn't very good anymore. Comes across very bitter does Charlie. Morris was right to drop him.
I agree. He can't stand the politics is code for he can't stand not being seen as the big man.

In life you sometimes have to realise the game is up before others do. For some that is a very hard thing to do.

That may well be true, he clearly didn't have the legs for the amount of minutes we asked him to play. Are people suggesting that there is no politics at Swindon and the running of the club is undertaken by competent football professionals though?

That's pretty much the bottom line.
Yes, the issues behind the scenes at Swindon are evident.
But if he was any good, he'd had 71 other EFL clubs to chose from.

Well, I know how you feel. I’m lucky with the comp I’m now working for. Still won’t be able to retire soon will we…

The club trying to say that the ST sales are about the same as last season sounds like flat out lies. IIRC we had circa 5k ST sales last season yet this season we've had less than 4k. Does that mean they gave out 1k comp and sponsorship season tickets last season? Maybe I've misunderstood but im calling bollocks.

Season tickets sales are just under 4,000. This figure does not include the complimentary and sponsorship tickets that were included in last year total. If included the sales are about the same as this time last year.
Hmm.

That doesn't fit anyones agenda who just don't like him though. I know for a fact he could of joined league clubs and clubs higher than Totton. He was promised the world by the club when he came back and ended up with no badges and Gavin gunning as manager. Theres even a great story about how Sandro and another gave him finishing advice once. Is he good enough for league 2 now? No, but the idea he thinks he is better than us and bitter couldn't be further from the truth

He obviously listened because his finishing left a lot to be desired last season…
