Nah it wasn't it was someone who isn't on the coaching team and in no way associated with the club

The club trying to say that the ST sales are about the same as last season sounds like flat out lies. IIRC we had circa 5k ST sales last season yet this season we've had less than 4k. Does that mean they gave out 1k comp and sponsorship season tickets last season? Maybe I've misunderstood but im calling bollocks.
Thant May explain the freeloaders comment.

The new fan zone plans look a little on the 'basic' side. Lovely for horticulturalists but doesn't look very fan zoney.

To be fair to the club, I think their hands are probably tied around what they can get planning permission for so close to the ground. At the moment it seems like a bit of a waste of time and they should probably just get the horse box with the cans out the back of the Town End again.

Have to admit, I don't get doing it at all. But if people want it, crack on.

The club think it will make money, unfortunately for them I think that's going to be a long term project. Ipswich have a really good one outside Portman Road, which is now ticket only on matchdays. It took them some time for it to take off and get busy (several seasons), but I have a feeling Clem is expecting it to be making him/the club money by the end of the season.

I think it depends on what your target audience is. If they get better food & drink options in, then that will appeal to some. Having stuff for kids to do whilst Mum or Dad has a pint, that's a different group.
Lets be fair, it's not likely to be for any of us and I can't see it persuading people from leaving their current drinking hole, unless you can get a better drink selection and at a discounted price.

I'm no marketing person but I would have thought the way to attract fans initially to the fan zone might be to invite former players there between say 12 and 2 and I'm sure you'll then get people taking an interest. Or basically some other USP that gets people to change their pre-match habits to come for drinks and entertainment at the fan-zone before heading into the CG.
