Bear in mind any new owners would do their due diligence, something that Clem was unable to do having to force the sale and waiting for everything to come out the woodwork, so any unsavoury deals would be known about before any new owners took charge.

If you are the only owner, that is correct
But even then the buck stops with him. He’s chosen to get involved with these people, he’s chosen to bring them into the club. Just because he’s now shit scared of them and can’t stop their side projects it’s still ultimately his fault.

He invited the wolves into the hen house, now he’s going to have deal with the consequences.

Just a clueless idiot. Not as sinister as some of the other behind the scenes stuff, no doubt.

Clem has been in and around this lot for over a decade.  His liquidation behaviour shows he is not averse to pushing the ethical boundaries of business.

This is a very interesting read, for once.

I know it’s the Daily Fascist and it may burn the eyes of some of you hard core far lefties, however, there maybe a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

Could this be the reason why our owners are going to cling on for as long as they can?

How long can they cling on for though? 5,000 ST holders last season and currently less than 1,000 for this season coming. If Clem was struggling with finances last season then there is no way he can fund this season.

Did anyone think it was for any other reason than massive profits?

In a round about way, probably. An awful lot of fans wouldn’t even think of it. Why we even have people buying 24/25 season tickets for Swindon Town FC. 😉

Why bother to promote and sell season tickets...when you can shift a huge amount of Belushi at an in-house gig, with an in-house ''security'' team, that has an {ahem} interesting track record.

Instead of weary gig revellers heading to the St John's Ambulance tent, it'll be:

''Oh feeling a bit fatigued/tired? Just head to our 'Strength and Conditioning' tent and you'll soon feel much better.''

I jest in as much satire as I can but I fear that this may also be closer to reality than it is to a satirical take. Satirical commentary on the club ownership right now is very similar to satirical takes on Government/Politics - there appears to be no way of knowing what really is false or true; sometimes the satire is more true than than the official line {no pun}.

Quote
"The Ink understands the total number of season tickets sold prior to the weekend had yet to breach the 1,000 barrier. In an attempt to find context, a flick through the Advisory Board minutes from the meeting on May 9, 2023 stated that “circa 3,500” had been sold at that point."

Sheesh.
