Watched Wales v England there in the early 70s. Good job I was wearing brown pantaloons! Watch Franny Lee’s equaliser.

Great goal by Francis Lee and wasn't football great before systems and all that bollocks was invented!

Never went to Ninian park but it looks as hostile as the old Den

Cardiff were mental from mid 70’s to early 80’s.
Add Pompey and Millwall, those 3 the worst of the worst in that era following the Town.

Used to watch a few home internationals.
Cardiff at Wembley one particular game were scrapping all game, flag posts were used as weapons.

I did wonder Dukey if you done Cardiff away at Ninian park. You would have to be a brave England fan drinking in the centre of Cardiff with all these nutters around.

Just one visit to Ninian Park on New Years Day 2003.
1-1 draw and we played really well against a team that was promoted that year.
Police escort back to the station.

That trip was more notable for the rail replacement bus journey from Bristol Parkway and the unscheduled stop on Faringdon Road, followed by the rapid exit and dispersal of the passengers (before the emergency services arrived) as smoke billowed from one of the seats at the back.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
Crap!

Went to Ninian Park in a pre season friendly - late 80s I think - also went to the Vetch a week before / after. Luckilly I took my wife. IWe went on the train and after a bit of sight seeing went for a pint on the Owen Glyndower and got to the bar and ordered my pint only to see next to me a man mountain who put his arms on the bar with a nice tattoo saying Fuck the English. We drunk up and he gave a smile as we left.
Got to the game where there about 200/300 of us. This copper came over and said where are your nutters. We said we didn't have any there and he said they had fucking plenty and were locking us in for half an hour after the game.
I could well have had 2 beatings that day but luck was on my side.
I remember they had George Wood in goal, ex Scottish international who liked a bevvy or 10 - he was getting very annoyed at the shit we gave him.

I went to Swansea around 79 on Boxing Day and they all came across the pitch before kick off!

only time I've been to Ninian was to watch  bath city dump them from the FA Cup in '93.

nothing happened. even went in wrong stand (don't ask) and were politely moved.

being a student in Swansea, town centre was best avoided come derby day. Wales generally lags the civilised football world by about 25 years, especially the Cardiff wankers

I went to the Cardiff v QPR play off at the millennium, with a QPR supporting mate. Some Cardiff fan giving large piss takes after the game outside a bar. I heard the punch land on him. Laid out. Idiot.

Favourite - Nothing comes close to La Bombonera
Least Favourite - Too many to choose from... New Wembley is up there. Hate that lifeless stadium

Must admit, had to look up La Bombonera but yeah, any game there looks like it must be pretty insane. Boca Juniors v River Plate makes the Old Firm look like a garden party...

Favourite for me - Lincoln Financial Field Philadelphia

Least - Lots...but the London Stadium is about as bland as it sounds, especially compared to Upton Park, one of the most characterful old style stadiums...

Best for me is the new Spurs stadium. Watched a couple NFL games there and done the tour. It is incredible.

Been to Wembley a few times to watch Swindon and England. Soulless place.

Probably obvious on here but Oxford's ground is terrible, not just because it only has 3 stands  Wink

Not been to many 'big' grounds, Goodison probably biggest (been to Nou Camp but not for a game) and whilst plenty of character was a bit of a dilapidated hole. So best is probably the Reebok (or whatever its called now), pretty nice to look at facilities OK and a piece of piss to get to from here via public transport.

Worst, depends when, back in the day The Manor was pretty grim, likewise Turf Moor 20+ years back wasn't great, in more recent times despite having been to a fair few non-league grounds over the years the worst was probably Holker Street last December, weather probably didn't help but good god!

Having lived in mainland Europe for 9 years I was lucky enough to be able to visit some cracking stadia. I'd say the Bernabeu was probably the best, helped by going to see Real Madrid take Barcelona apart 4-1. On the same holiday I went to the Nou Camp, which oddly I found unimpressive and I can't really put my finger on why. I also liked PSV Eidhoven's stadium. They had stadium heaters which was a lovely touch but did make me sleepy after a long day on the beer for a stag weekend! Closer to home the Spurs stadium is probably the best in the UK and I quite liked Stamford Bridge. I almost forgot Tynecastle, best ground in Scotland! (and I've been to both of the ugly sisters' grounds also)

Worst? Probably Colchester's ground. Nothing about it had any appeal at all.

we've been to Aberdeen, we hate the Hibs, they make us spew up, so make some noise,
the gorgie boys, for Hearts in Europe.
